rar40941's build thread

The rear I have the rear later kit and the front I can just set my camber plate back to normal instead of having it all the way negative and if I have to I will as spacers

also i took a turn today and i creased my good fender so now both or my front fenders look like poop

And this is why I think this whole hellaflush movement is dumb as s***, but thats just my opinion... do what you want :)

Are you blending them in, bolting them on, riveting them on etc...? Are you planning on splitting the flare on the rear so part is attached to and moves with the door and the other part is rigid to the body? Really depends on what you want to do and how you want the final finish to be. I've known a number of people who have taken on far bigger projects for the first fiberglass work but it all comes down to you, your wants and your experience.

I have never worked with fiber glass before I want to go on the door if I don't have too I won't and I have never don fender flares before. I am going to bolt them on for more aggressive look.

The reason I have. No sway bar is that the sway bar ends up siting on my Rear later kit cause I am to low if I want a rear sway I need an after market one with biger end links

Like i said before, it's not going to be as simple as just 'bolting them on for a more aggressive look'. On a coupe body like a miata, you can do that, there's nothing to get in the way of it. But on a four door car like the P5, it won't be as easy. I would take them to a shop and have them explain what will need to be done to make them fit properly. They should be able to give you a more complete understanding of how difficult a task it will be.

Just looking at it, it looks like you'll have to mockup mount the fender, draw a line that follows the door gap, trim the fender into two pieces, one for the door and one for the fender. Then you'll need to add fiberglass to both to finish off the space where you cut the fender. Finally you'll need to paint and mount them on both the door and fender. Oh, and don't forget that youll actually want to cut the sheet metal of the car around the wheel arches so that the tires will have clearance you want. Also, if you bolt the flares to the back bumper, you're connecting the back bumper to the body of the car, so you'll never be able to pull that bumper off again.

you need to swap out the stocker for an MSP/MP3 rear bar and you'll be good. the RB bar sit inbetween the lateral links. no rubbing even if really low.
old pics...but you get the idea.

Thanks my friend works at a body shop and I will talk to him about what I want to do. I am just going to end up cutting them the way I want and all that stuff I think I will be sick.

And ya I need to get the awr sway bar

As soon as I get them I will tak a pic and post them mabey do a video and what I want to do

you should really get the msp bar man. the awr will hit the lateral links worse that what you have now. trust me, i know from experience.

its not the end links thats the problem. its the design of the awr bar. if you're only lowered a little, then no worries. however, if you drop more than 2inches, you will run into issues.
look at this pic. see how the awr bar runs under the lateral links? the stocker runs above the lateral links (iirc).
so the more you lower the car, the closer the bar now comes to the lateral links. also, look at the endlinks. they will hit the lateral links as well. especially since you're pretty low already. i had to deal with this in the past so thats why I went back to the msp bar.
