The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Bought a sickspeed 175g black spherical knob. 27.95 shipped. I wanted a spherical knob and wasn't going to spend 160 for a TWM. I'll keep my JBR to use if I don't like it or feel like switching back

Do you guys remember me mentioning that P5? Is 6 grand too much to pay for an 03 with 127000 on the odometer and 78000 on a replacement engine?

What's the body/interior like?

$6K was definitely the average going dealership rate when I was looking at P5's in the spring. Similar mileage, and they "appeared" to be clean in the pics, up close was another story.

Other than the hood needing to be repaired/replaced the body looks solid. The paint is another story scratches on every panel and a few dents. The interior looks great. I have a plan to re-purpose the money to get the car but 6k for an 8 year old car seems steep to me. I have been doing searches on P5s for a while and 6k seems to be the low end of the scale. I just don't know, it looks to good to pass up but the price isn't sitting well with me. The sales hottie is going to give me a call sometime today, I will wait and see what she has to say.

Yea, I couldn't believe how expensive these things were either when I was searching for one. I had all but written these cars off because I didn't have that much to spend. I lucked out and found mine, but if it weren't for that, I wouldn't have been able to afford one and would probably be rocking a 95-97 Accord Wagon right now. (my 2nd choice in cheap wagons)

It just seemed crazy to me to take out a loan for a 8-9 year old car with well over 100K, especially after coming on here for research and reading all the crap from the FS haters. lol I wouldn't imagine these things are hot items though, so maybe if you go in playing hardball, they'll bite.

The Accord was actually my first choice (I'm an ex-Honda guy with 3 Civics) but they are even harder to find than P5's with a manual. What color is the car, Larry? You can have my old hood if you want.

Drive the damn car and have fun. It is car, maybe Marc will bring the RX-7

I could bring out the RX-7 for Toledo Express that is the best piece of pavement I have ever ran on for solo. The Goodyear slicks really stick on that concrete. They also setup some quick courses with some nice sweepers I have ran there with the car in 3rd gear for most of the course.

This Toledo autocross thing is turning into quite the event! :D

I can't pull any stings to get us in the same run, but I remember last year they started allowing clubs race together during their events for a small fee on top of the racing admission price. I could contact some people about that. I think it was a small BMW club or something, but they all run at the same time. I'll then have to see if my points carry over from that event.

Its great pavement but you don't get a lot of runs, usually 3-4 for the whole day.

The last event at the airport I think we ran 5 times. It all depends on the weather/turnout on how many runs you'll get. Sounds like a lot of fun. When I raced last year at the first NORA event I wish some of you could have made it out for that and raced. As for AJ, I'm not worried :) He might have coilovers, SC, and ..? I don't know what else, but MY DRIVER MOD IS BIGGER AND BADDER BUUUUUAAAAHAHA!

I'm starting a money jar at home that will say "TAX MONEY AND "CHANGE" TO STICKIES". That is if I change to SMF.

Last year I helped and raced a weekend event at the airport. Saturday the course was really fast and vettes where in 3rd easily. I had to even go to 3rd. I think the one run I glanced at the speedo before braking and I was almost doing 77mph "On a cone course that is insane." All the cones start to blend together. Needless to say a lot of people were missing the turn after the long "straight" or DNF'ing. So the next day we ran it backwards and added a few cones in the straight to slow it down.

And as far as Miata's go, Phen. I just don't fit comfortably in them. I like to sit up straight in the seat and I'm too tall. So I'm either hitting my head and looking at the sun visors or slouched all low in the seat. And the whole "OMG, Miata's are the best car EVAR!" gets a little old...

Pink text was forgotten thanks to posting from my phone.

Best British Sports Car? Yes
Best sports car under 30k? Most say yes
Best car ever? Far ******* from it.

I'd agree with that. Although, I will venture to say it's the best value for the money. You get a lot of performance for your dollar, especially used.

These days? If you want bang for buck, find a late model C5 Z06. <$20,000, and a lot more performance than a Miata. Can't beat them right now if you're looking for bang / $.

^and reg c5 vettes are around 10K-ish depending on miles

best bang for your buck is still on 2 wheels... speed, power to weight ratio, handling, acceleration and normally can be had for around 5-8k

It is dark blue. Hell ya I would rock a silver hood, for a minute. Then maybe paint it satin black.
