Aah yes. The good old immobilizer. I didn't think of that since mine isn't hooked up.
It's made by Lucas. It's probably ****** up.
I might be able to finally get rid of they key
If you have a way to completely remove the key that'd be pretty cool.
is our key coded like the new cars? if so is it handled by said immobilizer? do you know how to get rid of it? I might just install another push start, depending on your answers I might be able to finally get rid of they key
We have wild animals loose east of Columbus near Zainesville! Lions, tigers, grizzlies, wolves, giraffes, etc! Almost 50 animals! The cages were left open and they think the owner committed suicide.
Almost 40 have been caught/killed, but they closed schools out there!
You drill out the pressed in thin steel cap on the bottom of the switch assembly and let the spring fall out. It is much like a small freeze plug, maybe 9/16" diameter. You could probably punch it with a sharp punch and pry it out. The locking pawl now stays in the bottom of the housing. You could glue the remains in the assembly but mostly folks just leave it this way.
Nothing needs to be removed except that steel plate below the steering column that usually has fallen off anyway.
Why push button start? Because race car.
Phen did you see the cover of SS this month? tee-hee
