clutch, which are most recommended?

:
03.5 msp titanium
im looking into the stage2 or 3 clutches and was seeing if anyone here has had problems with any particular brands?

ACT
SPEC
EXEDY

any preference in puck layout/numbers?

any input is appreciated

Honestly they are unnecessary unless you are pushing 300 hp. I believe the stock clutch is an exedy and they last a long time. SCMP3 had the stock clutch and it apparently still held until the motor went at 227k miles. A stage 1 should suit you fine.

Well in that case a stage 2 may be more suitable. Most people wouldn't try to push that much hp through the front wheels.

My thoughts exactly...

lol, im not naive and im not dumb. my goals are reasonable and the parts going into my car can probably push more, but it'd be on the limits. im playing it safe while trying to get as much from the car as i can.. 340ish hp is where i want to be, and easily doable.. ill start my build thread soon

malcantry i commend your positive outlook, i will be starting my build soon too. good luck to you

kind of curious why everyone thinks its so hard to make power with these motors. keep in mind i say that assuming someone has built it correctly and done there research.

because its not just making the power. Its making it and still having the car being reliable. The motor isn't that bad its the trans that sucks. Its part of the reason why I'm parting my protege out and I'm going to build my miata up

So you think the stock exedy clutch is good up to 300HP? Do you believe it would be good up to maybe 250HP? Or should I go stage one for the kind of power?
