Integral Cams Install

cams are probably one of the biggest gains, esp if you get good ones designed for a turbo car, like integrals

I plan on getting cams sometime down the road, once I run out of other stuff to modify lol
 
cams are not huge power gainers for turbo cars compared with high overlap NA cams... the effects of scavenging and other "cam phenomena" are diminished big time because theres so much pressure on both the intake and exhaust side. the only time it becomes important is when youre outflowing them and need additional lift or longer duration. but ultimately, things that help in NA cars like overlap dont apply nearly as much on turbo cars.
 
If nobody's replied on the 2.5s, with the 2s you get about 15 whp more at the top end versus JDM cams (my stock cams... both dynotuned), with a little loss in the bottom end. As compared to US-spec cams, I can't say, but I venture you could see between 15-20 whp depending on mods. I used cam gears to lower the power peak to a more usable 6000 rpm and to gain back some midrange.

You'll feel the loss of low end torque a bit, but the engine goes crazy over 5000 rpm.
 
My Stage III head is being installed this week. :D
Then it goes on the rollers so I'll know exactly what the gains are.
 
According to the install sheet for the Integral stage 2.5's they are drop in, no machining necessary. I Just installed a set and turned them by hand and there's no contact outside of the shim/bucket. Anyone know the difference in degrees between the stage 2.5 turbo vs. 2.5 NA cams as far as pin placement?
 
Before Install: 283 whp on Dyno Dynamics at 19 psi
After Install: 294 whp on Dyno Dynamics at 17 psi

Had to turn down the boost because we were getting a misfire at 19 psi as it approached 300. More work to do.
 
What stage cams? 11 hp isn't to impressive.
