I have a video of me going 0-60ish I will upload later you can see I have a similar problem, except the added power from the ze helps pull out of it quicker. If I can get a roll bar camera mount soon I will attach my camera to the harness bar and show the tach.

Roughly 80km/hr iirc.
I'm also no drag racer or professional driver by any means. Wes and I just ran around the block and filmed it for s**** and giggles. And my tranny is still pretty stiff and notchy. Not that I'm making excuses. But i believe I took it up to 6.5k everytime. But yeah, Justin, upload your video of your true ZE. Now that's some powa.

On a protege with 215/40/17, with 7200rpm redline = 67mph
Didn't mean to start a debacle. The car looked quick enough and reassured my doubts about how happy I'd be with the KL's output. Would be good to see an in-car from Justin for comparison sake. Any plans to drag race it for laughs? I'm not much for drag racing, but it's a benchmark of sorts; I know Justin did a while back, but I forget what he ended up running.
Cool, thanks man. I'm thinking the car could be an autocross beast with an LSD. That high of a speed in 2nd gear would confirm that in my mind.

I'm not into drag racing either but I might give it a shot if there is a Mazda club going to a drag strip or something. As you know, the KL tranny's are the weak point and drag racing is really rough on components. My friends and I were discussing this the other night. If you think about it, it's WOT - shift - WOT - shift - WOT rinse and repeat. Whereas track racing is more about easing into the throttle and smoothness on the track and not upsetting the balance. But you race your 350z so you know what I mean.
I plan to get into Auto-x next year but I've been spoiled with the little expeirence I've had at Mid-Ohio. Nothing is more exciting than driving on a track. I just need more monies to afford the track days and a DD in case something goes ka-blooey. I'm a pussy and super cautious with my toys. haha
Haha! Yeah, but it's a little 2.5liter V6. That's what I keep telling my non-mechanical friends. My father-in-law (basically) was floored when he saw the engine in the bay. He's got a 50's Chevy pickup with a huge motor in it and really knows his s***. My car is named "sexy Sadie" after I found out that Vettel named his RedBull F1 car that. But I hate the Beatles. heh-heh

Haha, yeah I have the exhaust bolted on. I think I have a few leaks though I'm going to fix today. But it's OBX headers > CorkSport 60mm catless exhaust with the CS resonator and muffler. It's loud at WOT, but really not bad when driving around town. I mean, you can hear it's certainly an aftermarket exhaust and the V6 sounds very throaty. I'm afraid to mess with anything because it doesn't drone on the highway which is super nice.

Gear ratios for Xedos 9 5 speed manuall trany:
1...........3.64
2...........2.05
3...........1.32
4...........1.03
5...........0.78
R...........3.46
Final ratio...4.11
Those look very attractive and may just be the best overall option if this is in fact what you have in your car. At least this way you get a shorter 1st/2nd and a big boy 5th gear to keep the mpg's down. Referenced from HERE

The MX6 and 626 have the same gears, from what I've read. I've hit 60mph on the gauge in second on mine (stock tires), but redline on mine starts at 6500. The PGT trans is what you want, with that 4.38 final drive.
These are the ends of my gears at redline, from what I've observed
1st-30
2nd-60
3rd-80
4th-105
5th-?
1st to 2nd is almost doubled, but I'm not sure how gearing maths work yet. Research is required!
