10 psi DD?!?!

Nope had to get rid of the bigger turbo. 260whp on the stocker was a decent dd so I left it.

damn 260 whp on stock internals and stock turbo? thats awesome. how long did that last? i seen you had to replace some pistons at one point. also what are you using for a tune?

i run 10psi daily, but i also have methonal injection. look into that if you want to play it safe.

ya i did but than told it wouldnt help me out that much considering im still on weak internals.

Yes I did but it was all my fault had absolutely nothing to do with the power I was making. Which is probably why I cracked a piston instead of throwing a rod out of my block.

I put all 86Kplus miles on mine. Running 6.9 & 10+ psi since 2003 on stock engine.

some do that others blow at stock boost its odd, hopefully i got one of the stronger motors lol. what mods do you have. i want to get all the bolt ons possible than save up for a build. what do people think about 11 or 12 psi with a tune and full bolt ons

joka1 ran 22psi on stock internals for almost a year...

Then it shot a piston through the hood...

10psi is generally though of as the "safe, conservative number". you can still wreck your motor from things like oil starvation, but its not usually the power that kills it at that point. you could probably go to 12 since you'll have timing control on the haltech, but at 12psi, a bad tune will blow it. invest in a wideband/boost gauge if you haven't already, and a knocklight if you want to go over 10psi. i dont know why no one uses them, but it seems like a smart investment.

and look up 505zoom's build for inspiration, hes got the stock block record @277whp. you won't get over 225 without changing to a bigger turbo, but you should get around there on 10psi since your mod list is impressive. what are you using for boost control?

Dang the person I bought the MSP from threw a rod running 10psi on all stock internals with only a CAI and manual boost controller. I would be very careful. I am still in the process of putting my motor together but I have everything forged and will break her in with stock boost for now. Then up the boost later on down the road to reach a 240-250 HP goal or maybe more with upgrades. I want to match my wifes Speed3's power range.

you can easily get over 225 on the stock turbo ydubkid, i can think of a few who have done it. also, its not so much psi that kills these things, is knock, bad tune, oil starvation, driving like a jackass, poor maintenance. personally i would suggest fmic tuboback methonal good tune colder plugs oil pressure guage wideband knocklight intake 440cc injectors.... with those things I personally would feel safe running around 14psi

I plan on upgrading the injectors and fuel pump at some point. i would never go to 12 psi unless i had a very very good tune. i do have a lot of bolt ons so i feel comfortable with 10. i am investing in the AEM digital wideband and boost gauge as soon as i can. i see taht 505 hit 277 but then went boom im trying to find the perfect mix, power and reliablity. 225 would be amazing on 10 psi, after those bolt ons it could be a turbo manifold next along with forged internals.

Wasn't the stock turbo. Wasn't an MSP.
makes sense

no offense to you and or the previous owner but running 10 psi with just an intake is kind of silly. i will be careful thank you for the heads up

you seem very confident. hell i would love to run 14 psi but that is scary as hell with these motors. my mod list is planed to consist of
turbolife fmic, 3" pope downpipe with a 3" vibrant, bigger injectors, 505, aem boost and wideband gauge, unichip (maybe get tuned this is temperary) aem cai i guess i should get a oil pressure gauge too didnt plan on it but considering i recently had an oil leak that wouldnt be a bad idea.

No offense taken. The previous owner was doing this and not me. The MSP has not moved since it had its engine blown. Like I stated "when" I finish putting her together with all the forged parts I will be breaking in the motor all stock and when I can I will upgrade and try for around 250 or a bit more with more upgrades

if i were you i would ditch the unichip and go at least split second ftc or haltech

i am trying but for now like i said its temperary. im deff not made out of money going to school full time working 2 part time jobs

if you are going forged, your motor shouldnt even be stressed by the baby stock turbo
