GI: Engine bay dress-up hardware kits

I don't think torquing allen head bolts will be a problem, especially since these are pretty low-torque fasteners to begin with. But if enough people had a preference for standard socket cap bolts, I could do those too.

Also, at this point I don't have any plans for a full dress-up kit, since I'm not a fabricator by any means. (I do know SU sells aluminum rad tablets.) And when it comes to things like vac lines, coolant hoses, wire loom, etc, I think people just have too many different setups to make an integrated kit practical.

Allen, flush mount type heads, stainless steel.

Maybe something like this as well?

That is some really fresh hardware. I might have to see if I can find some fancy washers like that... but given the fact that they look milled, I suspect they are probably custom and $$$.

Alright, I ordered a sample of the screws and washers for an example of what I'm planning to use. Sorry for the poopy cell phone pic, but I am sans a good camera at the moment and I just wanted to give you guys an idea what you could expect. The washers are nice solid stainless and look really good IMO.

Once I get a decent camera back in my hands, I'll take a few pics of them on the car, and paint a few up for example. Those of you who'd want stuff painted, can you give me an idea what the most popular colors would be so I know what to get?

Looks good! I've been looking at different hardware stores to source parts and I'm noticing metric hardware is somewhat difficult to find. You still looking around the same price?

Yeah, GOOD metric hardware is hard to find in any reasonable selection for whatever reason. Seems every time I find JUST the right thing, it's in standard only, or not the right threading, or what have you. And don't get me started on the JIS vs DIN standards.... (yes, I have been looking at this stuff in my spare time for awhile now, haha)

As to the price, the washers I got from mcmaster were a little more than I was hoping they would be, but I was already ordering some other stuff from them, and I know they ship fast. I'll keep shopping around to see who else carries similar stuff and if I can get a better price by ordering a bunch at once. I mean, there are easily 20 washers between the valve cover and fender bolts, and if I can get 20 people interested, BAM that's 400 pcs right there.

So, long story short, I'm pretty sure I can put together a kit that is reasonably-priced by any standard... I just don't want to go quoting anything until I know I've priced everything out correctly.

Oh, and I'm still looking into nuts for the strut tower. The one kink there is that the strut bar nuts are M10x1.25, and all the stainless hardware I'm finding is M10x1.5. I'll keep you guys posted though.
