looking at some new tires for my car

So I have been looking at Tirerack.com for new tires and wheels and such. I have been looking at Hankook Ventus V12's. Question how long do they normally last? If anyone has these tires on their DD how do they do in rain? also What would you recommend for new tires? For wheels I like the Enkei Performance EDR9s in black, size would be 17x7. I wont be doing any of these mods until it is time to replace my current potenzas.

I owned a set on my Mazda5 (i believe they were the v12's). Did decent on the snow, pretty darn good in the rain as thats the benefit of directional tires. Never raced my 5 like I do the 3 so I cant tell you much about cornering grip. After having tires under 2 years the rubber itself on that aggressive tread looked cracked and old even though the tires still had a ton of grip. Definitely premature aging vs what im used to but the treadlife was holding up well.

EDIT!!!!!!
Went back and looked at the tread from a picture I had...its very close but not the same as the current v12...so it may not be a v12 (looked on their site and couldnt find my tire anymore).

Thanks for the feed back. Once it is time to get new tires I shall definitely get these. I don't really deal with snow (live in the south) But it wont be for awhile. Need the money for wheel and tire combo.

Subbed. I'm looking at getting the V12's soon. FYI, whoever said they used them in winter, the V12's are summer only tires..

I may be wrong, but I think Xsists has these tires or had them...

I have Hankook Ventus HRIIs. They were alright. Lasted a long time and provided average grip on the street. Weren't competitive at all in autox but were worth the money on the street. I would be willing to give the v12s a shot cause they are cheap but I'm going straight to star specs..

Alex, y u no post? lurker..

Yup what I had must have been somewhere in between the v4 and the v12s...all weather but a little more agressive....odd looking tire some folks didnt think it would work in snow by looking at it but did fine....I can vouch for hankook despite the premature aging but I think it was just the design of the tread.

Had my buddy who works at a shop order the V12's $440 mounted, balanced, stems etc etc BEFORE $60 rebate. They are out of stock until the 21st, should have them on by the end of the month. Will post a review.

i was going to say kumho has a very comparable tire out now called the escta le sport. I went with them over the hankooks because they were offering 100 dollar rebate. I'm very impressed with them so far, havent pushed them to the extremes yet though. Super quiet and comfortable for having a small sidewall.

Tires are back ordered until next week. Boo! I need new tires ASAP.

Just got the Hankooks installed yesterday, only put about 50 miles on them, but so far, I love them. So much quieter on the freeway than my stock Michelin MXM4's (I think?). Pretty sticky too, don't get nearly spin giving her hell from a stop in first. So far so good! Can't really comment on handling, just installed the Racing Beat rear sway and endlinks today too, but I am confident with these tires. They are awesome so far!
