CX-9/Mazdaspeed 3
Well after 2 Mazda's (2004 Mazda3 and a 2007 Mazdaspeed3) and am hanging up the zoom-zoom and moving forward. I was hoping that the 2010/11 models would have offered up some bigger goodies, (AWD, 2.5L, certainly different styling que's etc). I just could get into the new body and the car actually seems cheaper in materials IMHO.

Recently I haven't been posting as much as I have been in the market for new wheels. I would like to thank some of the OG's like Goldwing, LinuxRacr and Antoine for all the great advice and help. Thanks to all the other members for the useful (and some not so useful) posts. Lots of laughs and late nights spent here. Overall great experience. I wish you all the best and thank you for the memories.

Signing off for now....

Tim

Aw man, not even gonna tell us what the new wheels are? :(

I will be looking at Mazda's next round of vehicles very closely. The diesel intrigues me, because I love diesel cars. I have no doubt they will handle well. I have no doubt they will have peppy fun engines.

But damn it all, they need to not be cheap and noisy on the inside. I have found out just how bad my OCD is over the past few years. Please don't make me go back to VW.

VW's are getting worse and worse, IMO. I'm not talking about build quality, but building interesting cars in general. Maybe I'm just getting old and set in my ways, but not a lot of companies are making even visually appealing cars anymore. BMW went from good to horrendeous once Bangle was let loose and they don't show any signs of improving. I digress, it's unfortunate to leave a company, as a whole, after liking them for so long. This will also be my last mazda, in all likelyhood. I'm going to make the jump to a better class of car with (hopefully) not as many issues.

Yea, this was infact my 4th Mazda. My wife also owned a MPV and then a CX9 Grand Touring during the time I owned the 3's. I went to the dealer to see if they wanted the Speed as a direct by back and the offered me 7K. I just laughed and walked out.

I ended up buying a BMW M3 E90

Anyone want a 2007 CBM MS# with 44K in extremely good condition with no mods for 15,000 call me and let me know.

How could that be worse?

Looks like my next car.

I bought my MS3 after owning two VW Jettas (1991 & 2001 1.8T). Even though I loved the interior and features, the reliablity of both is what killed it for me.

The car was simply a nightmare for recall issues. Worst yet, all the items on my car failed BEFORE the recall was issued, so I basically had to pay out of pocket then go through a huge process to get reimbursed.

Here's the recalls/TSIB I can remember off the top of my head for my 2001 1.8T
Mass Airflow Sensor
Ignition Coils (this left me stranded in NorCal, 500 miles from home, because replacements were BACKORDERED for 2 months!!! I bought the car with Version D, they had version R by the time I sold it!!)
Coolant Temperature Sensor
Window Regulators (window drops into the door)
Oxygen Sensors failure (CEL)
Main Ignition wiring fraying (got rid of it before I had this fixed)
Hazard Light switch/relay failure
Brake Light switch

At the time of sale, one of the coolant hoses burst.

It all boils down to this. VW's are great cars. .when they work. .

Damn! I just bought an '08 CBM (after totaling my 07 BM) this past Friday. A little late to the party, I guess...

Wow, shows how much faith the dealer has in its own cars. :(

Take it by Carmax and see what they will offer. Might not be 15k, but I'm positive it will be better than 7!

That's a really nice car. Quick and fast too. High 12 second quarters right off the showroom floor.

But I also have to qualify my statement by suggesting that the build quality is not likely to be as high as you think, once you live with the car a while. And the frequency of repair and the cost of repair is going to be way higher than with your current ride. I say that based on two very close friends that drive V8 BMW M3's on those infrequent times when they are not in the shop. Maybe they just are unlucky. But it is a very, very nice ride.

+1. My brothers M3 always had problems for some reason. He ended up selling it to get a Tahoe because he couldn't afford to keep paying the repair bills.

The Bimmer comes with bumper to bumper everything including service (except tires and including brakes) for 50K or 4 years, which ever one comes first.

They offered 10,500. Mercedes offered 13K, best so far (I was looking at the C63)

BMW covers Maintenance and service for 4 yrs/50K (including wipers and brakes). I hope it's not in the shop all the time though, that would really tick me off. Mazda was good about repairs. The car was in and out. The only real issues were the rear sway bar bolt, Cam gear Tab thingy and the Turbo seals. They R and R'd everything and even replaced the Turbo, seals and all that stuff 4k out of warranty. Thumbs up to them for that.

Im with you Bro, This was my first and LAST mazda product, I have to say it's been a good little car but just so mannnny little quarks that it gets annoying...

My next car is (can't belive I'm going to say this) a Cadillac.....well not just any Caddy, but a CTS or STS-V so that should make up for it. (breakn) can't go wrong with 500+HP stock and comfort to boot..oooooh and 8 mpg, who says money doesn't grow on trees!

Golf-R? to each his own; looks nice but is way over priced, as usual. You can get a lot more car for the money IMO, but it all comes down to personal taste/choice. I am going the way of spdjnke. cts-v will likely be my next purchase (unless something else amazes me in the time it takes my speed to die).

I love my car despite the quirks, but I too will be dipping my toe into the luxury segment for its replacement. With what, not sure... depends on if we want to upgrade to a more luxurious house, too. Thinking entry-level Audi, though.

Not to get into a heated debate, but there's nothing else out there with the hp and AWD at a cheaper price. I won't be buying one new. That's for sure.
