09 mz3-HID question

:
mazda 3 s hatch
i was reading(couldnt find the answer in the owners manual) for HIDs for it. i used ddmtuning last car i had and want to use them again.

i want my high beams (9005???) and lowbeams (h7???) to both be 4300k, anyone got both mounted with HIDs without hacking the harness?

i also want 3000k fog lights(9006???)

So...i want either all of them working for at least the lows and fogs with HIDs and highs (still working) with the oem halogens

DDM kits are plug and play my friend. You need an H7 kit for the low beams. I am not sure on the highs since I only have yellow halogens in there.

i know they are plug and play i guess i didnt ask clearly. i need a pnp kit that is "dual" comes with both beams combined

You want to set it up so your low beams also become high beams when you flip the high beams on? The high beam housing is not suitable for a low beam application because it does not have a cutoff.

You could probably install dual filament bulbs or bi-xenon kits into the low beams and have them get brighter with the high beams though. DDM says that they sell those kits too.

Click the bulb type and select one of the ones with hi/lo next to it for that type of bulb. You'll probably have to either modify the base of the bulb to get it to fit right or possibly contact them about ordering a different bulb base since all hid kits seem to use the same bulbs with interchangeable bases anyway. Wiring would be somewhat straightforward but you'd have to do some splicing.

thanks that answers the majority of my question. i have to problem hacking the wiring and soldering thats easy.

basically i want HID lows and my hi beams not be affected

The low beams stay on when you flip the high beams on. Sorry if you know already, your comment confused me.

If you just get a regular HID kit (H7s), it'll be fine. Your high beams won't be affected at all.
They're completely separate from each other.

so the h7s HIDs would work fine on my 04 hatch? and if i installed them, they wouldnt effect my high beams? because i dont want ot change my high beams or my fog lights..

Yes. The 1st gen Mazda3s use H7 bulbs for the low beams.
The high beams are seperate bulbs, 9006, so installing your HID low beams will not effect your high beams what so ever.

Just buy a slim ballast kit from ddm tuning. It comes with everything you need for a mazda3 and it is plug and play. Be aware that the easiest way to install a set of HIDs is to remove the front bumper and headlights. It's nealry impossible to get your hands behind these headlights.

Well.. It was fairly easy for me. AFTER I figured out how to move the stupid retention brackets.
Stupid owner's manual was no help, nor was any video.
But the install overall is pretty simple.

i got my hand behind the headlights easy...and im not small 6'1" 260lbs

you must use that little circular bracket thingy or the retention clips in the low beams wont hold in the h7's
