holy s***, how did that happen?
says a semi tire bounced over the median and took out the roof

FWIW, I actually topped out at 215 whp with my Protege5 with a MSP setup at 10 psi. Granted, I had just about every available bolt-on, but that's still a 100+ whp improvement.Who is Mike? lol
I won't be doing a MSP build. pointless to add 30-50hp, IMO. GT28rs most likely.
Actually, KL with a K04 would be tits... I may start doing some planning. High compression + boost + meth = wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Ugh, just got into an argument with a co-worker about taxes. I'll likely shoot the next person who suggests increasing taxes for the "rich" is a good idea...
I read that thinking the semi was across the highway in the other lane (i.e. the MSP was eastbound and the semi was westbound) The tire came off and kept rolling, but across the median and right up onto the MSP! Scary
grats on the job steve

we've looked into finding where it came from, but its proving to be pretty much impossible. the new speculation is that it fell off the back of a truck on its way to be recycled, which would explain why its in such bad condition. coming up soon i should have a part out thread going and then i can start looking for a replacement car
Ya, but with a GT2860rs I should be able to hit 250whp with far less effort than getting to 200whp w/ a GT25. Less heat, less strain on the turbo, etc...
Besides, I've got plenty of time to think and plan. Pretty sure I'm getting coilovers this winter, and then the motor build begins. KL-DE with twin K04's? (boom08)
where and what are you doin?
What he means is that he can get the zoom zoom boom faster.
But really, if you want to turbo the FS, I'd say check out CtyRacer. He was in MOTM a while back, and he's most active on Probetalk, I'd guess. He's built several insane setups on the 2.0, but he's on his 3rd fully built motor using only the best of the best parts. A good tune is absolutely essential to delay the 'boom.'

Notice the huge difference in the first and last runs as it gets tuned.
Personally I'd lean to the KL side of things, but I think everyone here is sick of hearing about me and my KL obsession.
GT28rs would be less stressful and generate less heat at higher output than the GT25. So it actually slows zoom zoom boom down. (2thumbs)
It will certainly generate less heat than a GT2554R at higher flow rates because it won't be working as hard (i.e. spinning as fast). However, as far as stress on the connecting rods in the engine a GT28RS will be applying more stress than a GT2554R at the same pressure. The larger turbochargers flow a lot more air and when supplied with the correct amount of fuel, make more power. 10 psi on GT2554R turbo can be done all day on the stock motor, even with stock injectors. 10 psi on a GT28RS would most certainly require larger injectors (440cc's at least), but I wouldn't trust the stock block to hold out long. The general rule of thumb has been 6 psi on the potato is equivalent to 10 psi on the GT25...GT28rs would be less stressful and generate less heat at higher output than the GT25.
