Any photographers in here?

go for it... wide angle is very fun to play with... and according to kenrockwell it's the best wide angle lens out

Yo do it man. I like using it for walking around. That and a 50mm. That's all I carried in Brazil and NYC.

if your interested I should watch it once more... but then I'd be happy to send it to you. Otherwise there are obviously plenty of online resources.

i really appreciate it. There is no need,I dont want you to have to send it to me and go through that hassle. Ill just keep browsing around on the internet. Thanks though i really do appreciate it.

I've been seeing people with about a 2lb weight attached to a bar that screws into the tripod mount acting as a steady cam. You should check it out, I bet it would work well for you!

i was taking some pictures of my buddys new 5.0 and i dont know why but i just like this shot (even though it looks a lot darker on my monitor at work)

now that im critiquing it as im hoping you guys will i wish the GT on the strut brace was more focused.

the 5.0 is sharp, and if the fstop was high enough to grab the GT, then most of the plenum would be too... I guess I see it being both shot both ways, and having 2 focal points in the pic makes it difficult to choose how to shoot it.

Any of you have the Canon 24-70mm L-series? Thoughts?

ya i've had mine for over a year now. I like it. It's sharp but too bad it doesn't have IS. I use it for pretty much all the portraits I take at weddings. It's frickin heavy, and sometimes the focus hunts when i'm in around the 40-60mm ranges. But that's probbly my body or the copy of the lens i got. I've also shot out in the rain with it. It's pretty solid. Built like a tank.

I'm sure the 24-70 is a great lens I just struggle with a short zoom like that as I did my 17-55. The wide end wasn't wide enough and the tele end not tele enough. A 24-105 makes more sense to me. That or a 70-200. 50-500 would be ideal. ;)
