What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

errr, i thought stock MS6 barely breaks into the 14's ?
i heard of MS6s going 13.4 also but that is pretty heavily modded ones with near professional drivers.
spose if you adjust tune a tad and get a bit better shifts you'd break into 13s?

Stock is like 14.1 and I have seen some in mid to high 13's. I'm not gonna say this is what my car is only capable of since I only ran it down the track once and missed a gear. My launch wasnt the best and I had a 1.9 60'.

I was hoping for mid 13's for your car. Should have let it cool off and ran again. Missing a gear can take 1/2 sec off even if you get it right back in.

just checked, with pro drivers the MS6 can get 14.0 flat according to Car&Driver.

so if taylor gets a REALLY fine tune, shifts PERFECTLY, and launches well, im sure he could break close to 13.5 ya?

Car and Driver posted the fastest 1/4 by far but even saying that w/his mods I was thinking no worse that 13.7's. Miss a gear and you have no idea though, you have to shift into 3rd before the 1/8th so you cant even judge from that. I have come to think that our cars just aren't that fast, fun to drive but just don't get the power to the ground like they should. I would be disappointed if I couldn't get mid 13's out of mine but I don't know if it would.

id say for our car's weight and power it is pretty fast even stock.

our limitations are the strugle for significant power gains w/o going zoomzoomboom, as well as a passive awd.
also, it just goes back to the fact that our cars werent really built with the tuning world in mind...

If our cars were like evo 7/8/9 light then they would be a ton faster.

My car is about 800lbs heavier then my friends kinda modded evo, but since he in untuned my car is just as fast.
i wish it was an easy race to drop 600 lbs from this car.

Find out tomorrow if the car is sold or not. The guy had his Acura CL totalled and wants something sporty. He looked at a few Legacy Spec-B's and this was the first MS6 he looked at, but was really happy with it. He told me he's planning on going to the bank and will get back to me tomorrow with details if he gets financing for it. At this point, I'm excited, and tomorrow can't come soon enough.

Don't get me wrong, bang for the buck is why I bought my MS6, power/mileage combo is good, styling is very good and they're reasonably priced. I agree w/you both(zinger and batou) mods don't seem to have the pep up you thought they would and and they're a tad heavy for what they are. One gripe is how much hp they advertise is bs, it's always been inflated but 20hp for a CAI, 20 for a TMIC and 30 for a DP, BS! Mine's prob the fastest 4 cyl I've been in, thats not saying too much tho.

Nice time Qwik. I'd be very happy with that one. And considering you only did 1 run on that track, I'd say you did well. It's tough as hell to figure out the launch on that sticky tar at the line.

I wish I did. but with the bad clutch smell I wimped out.

My tune is pretty good. Still could be protuned for a little bit more power. I know I can do mid 13's with perfect shifts. If I get the 60' down I am pretty sure it is capable of low 13's.

Thanks man. I will run it again whenever they have test and tune. I even raised my launch control setting to make up for the stickieness. 4300 it was. I should have flicked the fwd switch once I hit 3rd for that extra umph.

Today, my CP-E RMM went on. First thoughts were wow vibes! But I expected that after reading the threads about it. Generally things feel much tighter and shifting seems smoother. I imagine the vibes will settle down a little as time goes by.

Worbit thanks...you just helped me make my choice.
I can save 1/2 and get something else w/the other 1/2 lol.

i have the ability to pick up a PG front mount kit thats never been used for a decent price... only issue is it from a speed3.... does anybody know if i can make the piping work?
