window issues

not sure if this is the right section but i'm having issues with all my windows on my ms3. essentially, they jerk when opening and sometimes thud closed. also, if i have the windows slightly open, i can move them fore and aft like there's a lot of play in the regulator/window rails.

anyone else had this problem with their 3 or ms3??? appreciate some feedback.

thanks,

binz

It's a Mazda "feature"... My 2006 Mazda 6 was so bad that if I cracked the windows and was in motion, they vibrated to the point that I was afraid they would shatter. And I am NOT exaggerating at all. Once they were down about 3 inches or more, they stayed in place pretty well, but damn.

The Speed3 isn't nearly as bad, and honestly up until a few months ago I wasn't getting a rattle when the windows were cracked. But then it started. Grrrr...

were you guys under warranty when this happened? did the dealer fix the issue? if they did has it come back again? seems like crappy/cheap quality if they don't have a permanent fix for it.

In my case, the dealer did nothing. They looked at it, said that's just how the car was built...

Sadly, they were right. I mean what could they really do, if the damn door panel wasn't designed with proper fitment?

that sounds like bs... i mean how can they expect me to believe that my windows should rattle and flop around after just over a year. thanks for the feedback, i will try my dealer and hopefully get a more positive result.

The windows on mine "thump" closed, but they open OK. That may be because I open them often. No rattles - I open the back windows partway to alleviate the "helicopter" effect caused by only opening the front windows.

so i took it to the local dealer today and after being told that they "took all the door panels off and lubricated & tightened everything", i picked up my car only to find that everything was exactly the same as when i dropped it off. i was also told that they checked another mazdaspeed 3 and its windows do the same thing, which sounds to me like i shouldn't bother taking it back.

"kvndoom" was right, the dealer was useless. very disappointing and a complete waste of my time. i have another mazda that's 16 yrs old and the windows aren't loose and jerking opened/closed. now i understand why mazda's customer satisfaction is so low.
