The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

if your gonna do green make it a vibrant bright green....

evan you should do orange wheels for your winter set...

im thinking about doing either orange or plum crazy purple for my winter set up hahaha

the beauty about winter wheels is more than likely they will need done once a year so (all the chips from rock salt) why not do a crazy totally abnormal color....

Go green have you though of maybe a comelion color like oceans or copper. A color that would shift to the color od light would besweet too.

I know! They sell a spray can chameleon green/silver, but it is $21 a can. That's almost $100 and unjustifiable compared to $30 or less for regular spray.

True, just go with a bright neon or fusion green then. Would look sweet in the snow.

So. I've been here in Beijing for what, 3 weeks now almost? I haven't seen a single Miata... then it hit me.

Homosexuality is illegal in China. It all makes perfect sense now!

james you do realize that the green wheels will clash worse with the red calipers than the orange would.... and they are just winter wheels no one really cares about making their cars look as good as they would for a summer set up... frankly i could care less whether mine is clean or dirty in the winter....

So hypothetically, this winter my wheels will be green, Evan #1 red, and Levi's purple/orange. I'm thinking winter photoshoot.... I need to get to work on this sanding, filling, and priming/painting!

I know green/red clash, but like you said-who cares- and I think the contrast in color is actually okay...I still dunno but I am heading out to start sanding I think. Wheel color can be decided at a later date!

As far as wheel colors go, I was set on green. Then red. Now orange. Damn it.

****, that leaves me with Moulon Rouge... God damn it. Oh, and it was Sub-Lime Green, not grabber green. ;)

I just photoshopped a nice orange and I must admit it looks good. I also photoshopped a better colored green onto my car just to see. I will upload them later for opinions since they turned out nicely. In the end, I really don't care what color mine are so long as they are bright and ridiculous and keep me cheery during the bad Ohio winter!

I really doubt it would take more than one can to paint your wheels. How many coats of paint were you planning on doing?

I almost got one wheel finished sanding! I got about 4 more hours of prepwork and they will be perfect for paint!
I have heard it takes 3-4 cans-one per wheel. I mean, they are 18s with a lot of surface area, and I do want a thick, protective coating. So I figured one can of primer, one can of paint, and one can of clear on each wheel. I know it seems like a lot, but I want to be protective, that's all. I think Phen told me he used 3 cans of color on his wheels....
Color choices are still running through my head...

When I paint my wheels, I use about 3 cans of paint and 2 cans of clear. I never primered them but it wouldn't hurt. The prep work is the most important part, just make sure you wipe them down really well with alcohol and they are clean.

my bad... your right

grabber green was a stang color... however the grabber green dupicolor engine enamel is ALOT close to old Mopar green than the stang green....

yeah... grow up learning the ins and outs on Mopars and that's what it does to you. LOL. They also had an ugly butterscotch color. Paint code 999 I think.
