aftermarket rims off a Dodge Caliber

Here's what I've found out so far:

OEM wheels for the Caliber are 5-114.3 with 40mm offset. The guy selling these doesn't know the offset of the custom rims. Is there any way to see whether or not they will fit?

Ask him if he has rubbing issues. if he doesnt, than youll probably be good, if he does than itll probably still fit, but youll have to modify your fenders. I would recommend a test fit.

Whats the hub bore? That may be different.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too: LOTS of space there! I checked the hub bore; it's the same: 67.1mm. What exactly is that and why does it matter?

if his hub bored is smaller than yours, it won't seat down on the hub face. if its larger, there can be a little slop and your wheel will behave like it is out of round.

Hey that makes a lot of sense...I guess I'm just gonna go see if they fit. If he can't agree to that I'll find something else.

its the same hub bore. I bought my current wheels from an SRT caliber owner. Mine are +35 which requires a rear fender roll, but doable.

Chances are that theyll work for ya. Definitly try and find out the offset just in case though. Its usually stamped on the back of one of the spokes.

How can someone be that dumb to not know the offset of the wheel they bought?

Shouldn't it be written somewhere on the wheel anyway? Like inside back or something... if not on the boxes he got them in

Yea, the rim size, width, and offset are usually stamped on the inside somewhere.
