+1. Stretch is actually very functional. When you strech you get no side wall flex which is very helpful in drifting. So dont give me that BS that strech has no function. I feel that my car is still very functional and I drive it like it does.

Even that MS3, thats my man Shavi's and he drives that s*** hard sometimes, haven't seen or heard any problems so far.

A lot of the function type's "theories" haven't actually happened to anyone in the stance community. I understand that there are the "garage queens" of stance but most are that flush and that low on a daily. I know that my setup is nothing out of the norm for a miata and isn't really crazy when it comes to hellaflush but it blows peoples' minds how I manage to have the tire literally on the fender, yet not one spot of tire damage on my sidewall. Makes me smile everytime. lol.

I love form, I love function but I myself like form more than function. Can't we all just get a long :P

Anyway, in a week in a half or so, I am gonna be ordering header wrap, o2 bung, turn signal intakes and led turn signals :)

Oh, and I received the final piece I needed for the protege to be sold. Shes all clean and everything, ready to show to potential buyers :D

Know what would put this to the final test to make everyone STFU?

One stanced, stretched tires ride vs a functional ride.
Same suspension components
Same tire size
Same Tires
Different wheels because obviously most of the stance wheels won't fit properly on non-stanced cars.

One driver. Objective test in every possible way.

Will never happen.

OR WILL IT?

lol nah it probably wont, but what i dont understand is..the functional guys freakin out, its dumb..TO YOU,
i think trying to fit the widest tires possible under the fender is dumb and looks terrible
plus, there really isnt any point in doing that either, unless u take it to the track, and most of the people who are slammed, flush, or hellaflush, dont track there car at all

idk, they're super ******* hard headed most of the time. lol

(potkettle you guys are pretty hard headed yourself.

yeah, low and stanced people have never:

put holes in an oil pan.
got stuck on a small speed bump
had to turn around because of a small speed bump
scrapped and dented up a brand new exhaust. :D
dented a new set of wheels
rubbed off the sidewall of the tires in less than 100 miles.
lost a wheel from spacers, busting up fenders and other components.

yeah, that sounds a lot like taking measurements to me.

still love ya dub...

CV joints constantly clicking & wearing out, axles wearing out seals, blowing wheel bearings, wearing out ball joints.

Pretty sure those realities have happened with people laying frame. Just sayin... lol

I agree with the function guys.
Honestly, I love a slammed ride (the look of it anyways), but the whole tire stretching is just beyond my realm of taste. That's just me. I can respect everyone else's opinion and how they want to mod their cars, but I will speak my mind about it when I don't like it. For example, that MS3 with the white wheels is retarted.
Nate's explination of why 'some' of function people are hard headed was just spot on, couldn't have put it better myself.

well who lays frame on here lol i have been riding around with bad CV joints for thousands of miles, my axles seals..they are still ok, wheel bearings: surprisingly im still on the OG ones with 219K miles lol they dont make any noise at all, ball joints: yea those are bad too
but i mean, i dont think its from being low, those parts wear over time, they may wear a bit quicker being low, but i doubt tht much faster

You gota pay to play.

Using cliches out of context. Win. (blowup)

You're lying to urself if you think going past certain ride heights and thus changing suspension geometries beyond optimal ranges doesn't put added stress on suspension components.

Yeah, I know that s**** gana happen and ive come to grips with it. In other words: Ive broke s*** cause I was too low and kept going. If you cant understand that or dont get why, what ever. Its a lifestyle, if you cant hang, GTFO

haha defensive much? I never said anything about not understanding. Other ppl will tell you, I'm one of the more understanding and appreciative people around here. Learn who you're talking to. little e-peen

Do what you do. Just don't be ignorant about what you do. (cryhard)

It wasnt directed at just you. Its for every one who hates on slammed or hellaflush lifestyles.

Don't take this the wrong way, but it's that attitude specifically that draws people to not give it the time to appreciate the style and just hate it instead... (shrug)

Trend brings about people questioning. Trenders tell questioners you wouldn't understand. Questioners say "Well **** you idiots if you don't even want to try to explain."

Pretty much how I've seen it with other trends that have come and gone.
