What have you done to your MS3 today?

Oh come on now. That's no where near as blasphemous as an LS in an RX-7, or a ford V8 in a miata

And I feel the weight might be marginal. I can't say for sure cuz I haven't looked it up, but you've got all these components with a turbo 4cyl against an NA V6. Even the V8 used for the monster miatas are only like 100 lbs more than the stock 4 cyl

I'm just not a fan of the idea, really. I just don't like the thought of a bigger, heavier, N/A motor in the 3. I don't think it's a good match.

A KLZE would be kinda interesting, but it's only a 'dinky' 2.5. I also don't think any manual transmission bolts up to the Ford/Mazda 3.7.

And if you're talking the 3.0, that thing has no balls unless really modded up, and that costs quite a bit because not many companies support the platform.

Again, it's just cheaper to build the motor than do any of that type of fab work in this car, and with that you can make 400 WHP, which is more than enough for fail-wheel-drive.

I'm sure it'd work nice... I dunno about it's streetability. I kinda want to see the L3-VDT swapped into something else. An RX8 maybe? A built MS3 motor in an RX8 would be kinda cool IMO... but I have no idea how one would orient the motor and hook up the trans and whatnot. But I think it's a cool concept, sorta like a 'new school' Mazda S15.

I'd love to see the MS3 drivetrain used in a mid-engine/rwd configuration, drop it into an MR2 shell, or into a fully custom frame.

Some not so well known company is using it for their MR sports car. I dunno who though. I'd just like to see it in an FR configuration. I think it would really shine there.

Kinda like the clio v6. Just take the engine and trans assembly from the front put it in the back with a sound barrier around the backseat area, under the bonnet becomes luggage space...and bingo, mid engine rwd ms3

Made a wish list on an "unmentionable" site...can anyone lend me $8k that I'm not gonna pay back?

Other than that I'm still enjoying my ht tune.

Trying to decide if I should trade my wheels for 2010 wheels...

need a better picture to tell ^ the photoshop one dont do the 2010 wheels justice. as of these two pictures i would say ur current wheels, but i do love 2010 wheels. just that pic is mis-leading lol

I like the silver wheels better than dark (gunmetal?) wheels on the blue MS3's. Just my personal preference. I do like 2010 MS3 wheels though.

I need to find a decent picture of the 2010 wheels on a Gen 1, preferably on Cosmic blue. Then I would be able to photoshop the color I am looking for out of them... Looks funky because the wheels are from a straight on shot so there is no depth to them when used on the picture like that. Just a mock up.

Current wheels are 18x7.5 Enkei GTC01, +47.

so, your specs wouldn't really change unless there is a huge weight difference between the two. otherwise it's just style choice. personally, i think the new MS3 wheels are pretty hot.

Enkei wheels are 20.7lbs a piece. All the info I can find about the new speed3 wheels are that they might be 24lbs. Not definite proof on that yet.
