After i come back from my trip I'm planning on making a box for my subs so I can finally install them, they've been sitting in their boxes for a month now..

Anyways; what I'm looking for is ideas on where I could put the subs (2 10inch) i wanna save as much room as possible.
I'm tied between one big box for both subs or 2 separate boxes.

I'm open to all ideas! Also pictures would help lots!!!

Use the search tab and look for Stealth box.

I made one. It makes alot of room.

Im no good with fiberglass, so making my own stealth was out of the question, but what I did was modified the original box to fit in the wheel well space better

Still havnt gotten around to re-carpeting it lol

Here is mine. I made it big enough so that I meet the minimum air space req. for the sub.

Just my personal Opinion but two subs is a bit of over kill for the P5 unless your really looking to hit hard as hell. Being the car is hatch the sound reproduction from a single sub is more then enought for most people. I have a small 8" sub and am very pleased witht he way it sounds. If I were you and wanting big bass I would go with a good 10" sub and do a stealh box in the rear of the cargo like in the pics above. Saves space, you can still use the trunk area and sounds awesome. Just my two cents. Stealth box should cost about $100 buck in materials and take a weekend to fiberglass and mold. If you do the stealth box there's a how to about it on here from another guys. Big hint is to take the rear panel out and mold it to the panel that way, much easyier then doing it in the car.

LOL yeah, that would be a real b**** to clean up afterwards..
Well..you guys have convinced me.
1 sub it is!

Here is mine 1 12 inch sub but with my box I have about 2 cubic ft of airspace ( I have the box filled with expanding foam to make it the airspace I needed ) so two 10s can fit I just only wanted one 12 due to how much power I had to push it. This was my very first attemt at fiberglass and it was much easier than I thought. its a stealth setup meaning is the OEM floor panel covers my entire system and I can cart all the groceries I want in my car as well.

Typically larger subs reach lower frequencies while smaller subs have a more prominent mid-frequency range.

My sub's box takes up (almost) my entire trunk, and is ported into the cabin ( I have a sedan not a p5).

Fiberglass really isn't that hard to work with... If your really looking to save space I'd just custom mold a pod into the rear doors and put 8'' subs in them. SEAS, Mach 5, sundown, and DC sound labs are good brands to take a look at.
You should build a box out of MDF in the door, and bolt it to the frame. Then cut the door panel, and use spandex or fleece with some contoured shapes to form a smooth transition over the box. Then fiberglass it.
With some polly fill inside the box, you will only need about .75-1 sq. ft. of space

And thus you've just saved all of your trunk space.
Make sure to face the subs at an angle so they do not intersect eachother, or else you will experience what is called 'cancellation', where the sound waves from 1 sub cancel the sound waves from the other sub. Basically, if the waves run into eachother, they cancel eachother out. So just try to keep them from running into eachother by pointing them both forward slightly.

Honestly, for the best results, I would recommend going to a car audio store and asking a sales person to show you some component sets and subs. Just whatever you do, don't buy anything from the store. Prices online are usually ridiculously cheaper, and there are usually better brands available.
Just check out some component speakers, because if you just want a bit more bass, then a good set of components is all you need. I really recommend simply installing a good set of components before you spend a lot of time, money, and energy with a (probably crappy) sub in the trunk. Components will be much closer to you, sound much better, and might be what your looking for. My opinion on subwoofers is, go big or go home. If you want to hear the bass, get a set of components. If you want to feel the bass, say goodbye to your trunk ;)

I had an idea a LONG time ago to bring the sub further forward. I got a Kicker 8" solobaric (the square sub). I removed the center console and started hacking away. I did this well before I started taking pictures of every step (which I generally do now with all my projects). Here's the best pics I have.

The box is clearly unfinished, and was also my FIRST fiberglass project. A bit ambitious, perhaps- and maybe someday I will actually finish it. If not, I have a stock center console collecting dust on a shelf in the garage...

I removed some of the foam on the side of the seats, and pulled the rest of it back with some zip ties within the seat frame itself. The seats have full movement without messing up the leather. (Not that it matters much now since my German Shepherd has destroyed the leather)

The box actually wraps around the ebrake handle. It extends forward about 8 to 10" There is fiberfill stuffed into those channels in this pic. I also had the sub mounted once, but it was leaking. I put some caulking on there to try to seal it up. Bad idea... You live; you learn.

the stealth box is nice, but i couldnt do it in mine because of the complete trunk cage. just went with a simple 2 12" box. and i would agree that you really only need one. i have two infinity 12's and even only rated at 300 RMS, its waaay more than i thought it would be due to the open cabin of the hatch.

I have the trunk cage but the left lateral brace is off. lol I still want the performance. lol

I know this is a very old post, but you wouldnt happen to have the measurements for this sub box would you?
