HKPRO5's Supercharger Build Thread

It feels like I need to add fuel in the lower RPMS. It kinda bogs unill 4-5k then it takes off to redline.

you have a wideband? if its bogging that actually sounds like u need to remove fuel, normally when my car boggs down the AFR's go to the 10's..which is way rich

to tune all you need is a cord to hook up to the SSAFC and a laptop
then just record, floor it, look at results, add/take away fuel where needed, and repeat until everything is smooth

:)
i need to try that... i mean i already have but have no patients...
btw cres... that puppy seems to take off now ... your car probably faster then mine :P

sand island access road is a nice little road... be careful though

watch the wideband in the lower RPMS... yeah at 4-5k you are in open loop... mine has a little kick in that range too if you look at the bump in my dynosheet

bogging can also be cause by too much fuel... shoot for 11.5-12afr

HKPRO5,
Sounds so supremely awesome, much better video. Thank you.(drive2)

808MP5,
I was not arguing that a turbo would be not as good as a supercharger. I think for people who are willing to get lines run, get rods, and turn up the boost pass 10 psi have the turbo kits for there needs. But for most basic users who use their car for daily driving might feel that NA mods are not enough, and they need something that will be better without needing rods. I personally think one of two options will come around, either supercharger with A/C or KL V6. I would figure there would be more V6 swapping and people might not care about supercharger if the wiring was not such a nightmare. I use my car for daily, hauling stuff, and autoXing. A supercharger would be a awesome for my situation. A lot of people say I should just get a better car, but the car is paid off, in good condition with no rust, and my wife really needs a car before me (rusting 1994 ford escort wagon).

1.) not really that much cheaper.....it is if install it yourself
2.) depends on mechanical skills....true, but a lot of people have taken off the manifold intake on this forum.
3.) debatable...so you think sharing coolant and oil with a turbo does not stress the cooling system long term? Especially if you got the stock oil pan and then there is the oil pressure problem
4.) debatable....from my understanding 100,000 miles before rebuild
5.) depends on local laws....true, some have no emissions and it would not matter.

it's all good...
but i think the mechanical skills involve more than removing the intake manifold which i think HKPRO5 didn't even do... hehe i wanna supercharge too... i love the sound...

what time you finish work in the morning? i go back to work next week... finish 7am... sounds like a great time to hit H3 windward bound... little to no traffic

Hahaha Idk well see. lol Maybe we can meet up after you finish work one day. Where do you work at? I probably will only be able to give you a test drive. lol

test drive sounds good to me... i like sample

From 2k to 5k rpm my afrs are in the 13-14 range.....

hook up a laptop and click the..umm....i forget the button, but one of the buttons on the program reads the map from the SSAFC

kinda hard to explain it since i dont have my laptop, but im pretty sure u have the superstock map loaded on yours

I think it's in the menu. Something like copy map from ecu. Hehe just dig around
of your getting 12.1 during boost you are at optimal as far as I can tell without am actual dyno pull

lol

Yea I might just stick with the superstock map. It seems to be working. Probably gonna hit the Dyno next tuesday.

Hey Thomas where did you go to dyno? Rad is charging $115 for 3 pulls.

i went to munky wurks buy best buy in town... was $85 for 4 pulls... probably would have kept pulling but was heat soaked and wasn't showing any improvements

he has my baseline saved on his comp... should try compare it to mine... i bet you making more power

Nah. I dont think so...lol Where is it exactly? I work right there. lol Do you have a phone number?

I had some problems with the cord...It was like 3 inches long..lol So I picked up an extension at best buy. So ill be trying this again. hahaha

The one thing I was worried about is when I was looking at the only trend I had. It showed the boost pressure at 9.9PSI...........
