yes California doesnt let you boost a car that isnt boosted stock. (pretty sure thats what Dub told me) but that didnt stop him with the protege.

and about the whole "your car can only be turboed legally if it comes with a turbo stock ".
I heard that u can swap engines if a car as long as the engine is made for that vehicle model it is legal. So if you claimed to the police that your car is running a msm engine which comes turboed u might be a able to get away with it... Maybe.
but since dub wants a super charger he just has to make sure they don't check under the hood by saying "no, u cant search my car". cuz they might talk s*** but it takes days or weeks to get a warrant and so they would not even bother

Horrible idea. The cop will, probably, be even more of a ass hat and then you'll sit on the side of the freeway for an hour while they get that warrant in there car . Trust me, I know.

yes is 2.5", yes its loud lol, yes I can legally supercharge the miata with moss motor's carb legal kits.
The whole thing of whats illegal and whats not is what changes emissions. Exhaust change isn't ilegal unless its really loud or if you removed a cat, due to emissions. FI systems alter emissions, this is why they're usually not legal, however if you buy a full kit that was designed around keeping the emission levels where they are suppose to be, you're good. Samething applies to motor swaps here, yes they can be legal but its pretty expensive on top of the cost of swapping. You just have to setup the emissions up properly for the motor in question in your car, this takes multiple tests from a state ref and multiple parts you wouldn't need for a illegal swap, but once you pass and get approved, your motor swap is now legal and you can't get s*** from po po.
Lot of explaining. lol. But yeah, I got the exhaust installed, sounds great but is pretty loud. The little muffle does look ricey off the car, but on the car it fits in perfectly. If you through the same size on a larger car, it'd look like a rice fart can for sure. However, the exhaust IS NOT slammed friendly. The res is pretty fat and its placement sits is probably .2" off the ground. I drove maybe 15mi since install and I've already shaved it down a lot. lol. I hope it doesn't get a hole in it but thinking realistically, it probably will.

a constant shower of sparks probably lol must say it did look pretty sweet.
another side note: im still thinking of keeping the FC more cause i already have the car and have money for oil change etc, and some ok coilovers
