Please, serious responses only..i don't want to hera how both cars suck or that they need lake mods or whatever.

i need to make up my mind soon.

this is the setup..

car 1 (MAzdaspeed Proeteg 2003.5 Yellow, turbo, FMIC, 3" exhaust turbo back, AFC, Wideband, boost gauge)
car 2 (Mazda Proetege MP3, 2001, Blue, built engine, no turbo, stock exhaust, stock ECU, HIDs, fog lights, cleaner interior, tints.)

both cars are mine. i need to give one of them to my wife, she has no preference.
the only problem with the yellow one is that
1. the bumper sags(fixable once the FMIC is out)
2. suspesion bottoms out slot (due to never having the bump stops...fixable by changing the struts)

would it be better to
1 swap engines

or

2 swap turbo setup, aFC, WB, Exhaust.

the great thing is that both cars are identical when it comes to chasis..
both are 5 speed/open diff

basically, the only difference is the color and the rear wing (i don't like the MP3 wing as much as i do the MSP wing)

well obviously the easier thing would be to swap the add on parts to the MP3 and make the MSP NA or just get stock MSP equipment.

i voted "Swap Turbo Parts" just because it would be easier than pulling TWO engines.

i forgot to add that the MSP engine would be better off without turbo than the MP3 engine, since it has a little higher compression.

no, if i swap engines, the turbo kit will stay with the built engine..
msp engine would move N/A to the MP3

screw that. why do twice the work? plus you would be putting BOTH cars down untill the job got done. think your wife will go for that? i know mine wouldn't.

So the built motor has high compression pistons?

Also could you run the msp ecu with the mp3 harness? A harness swap would be worse than an engine swap in my opinion

I would use the MP3 for the turbo.

1. Easier to swap turbo over to the built block vs. swapping 2 motors.

2. MP3 Steering rack.

3. MP3 is more unique.

4. MP3 with low compression and boost is wayyy more unique.

5. That MP3 looks to be in better shape than the MSP.

6. MP3 is better.

7. Did I mention MP3's are better?

Easier swap & better car? No question to me. (lol2)

I agree! Turbo the MP3 and keep it for yourself...

it will plug in, but you will get a CEL because the MP3 doesnt have VTCS.

Won't affect anything performance wise, tho. Just have to look at the cel in your dash every day... And actually, you could hook up a VTCS solenoid, cap the vac lines, and don't connect it to the mani, just plug it into the ECU, and no more CEL. ;)

It's a better intake mani than the MSP's bcuz of the no VTCS. More power. (rockon)

+100000000 Swap the turbo and bolt-ons to the MP3 and rock it (headbang)

imma end up doing that, i think is the wiser choice..

good thing is i won't miss the MSP, coz i can drive it whenever i want...just much slower :P

i will gain some and lose some....
the MSP is an attention *****, while the MP3's color is more common, blends better with other cars...

& the intake mani is an upgrade, the steering rack is more precise, and there were onlly a little more than 1000 of the blue MP3's made. ;)

you should know that the steering rack on the MP3 has a SLOWER ration than the rest of the protege's. the mp3 rack is 15.4:1 and the regular protege is 15.0:1.
