I'm looking for a CBE that doesn't creat a droning sound while cruising, but plenty of noise when hitting the gas pedal. Any ideas or suggestions?

I think they all will drone some what, I'm running the COBB and I love it, no noise to attract cops, but just enough "hum" to keep me happy when I boost the monster.

cbe

I installed the Magnaflow system about 8 mos. ago and i am thrilled with it. It is deeper and throatier than other ones i have heard. Installed in my area which is greater Atlanta cost me 600.00 No drone, just a good sound.

Had MSCBE for 2 yrs now, no drone lot of Interstate miles! Can't say I have ever heard it WOT outside because I havn't let anyone else drive it!

Any one hear a cpe with the resonator and muffler combo? I have a cpe dp and it increased my drone, I don't mind a little more sound but I want to reduce the drone!! I wish I could find a cobb but they stopped making it no one is selling one...

You can still get a COBB at Street unit I believe. As for the CP-E it's definitely loud and with a DP, well it's gonna be even louder, you should check out you tube and hear the ones on there it will give you a good idea on how they all sound.

SU has it on website as discontinued and when you call them they say that they havent had it for 2 years. I don't get it why they don't take it off... The cpe on you tube is loud but it could be because the don't have either the rsonator, or muffler, and or both. The cobb has both that is why it is the most quite that i know of. Has anybody heard the ghl drone free setup? Thanks for the feedback

Greddy Ti-C

What do you guys think of the Greddy Ti C. Anyone here have it?

I was also looking at the Magnaflow and Borla.

Thats odd, huh.......anyhow if you want it to be "quiet" then you want to go with the Racing Beat CBE that's the quietest, my buddy CopperKid has it and it's virtually not noticeable.

spdjnke, I actually got your Corksport CBE from you a few years back. It droned a lot at first but then I found a cracked resonator. Once that was fixed, it is much quieter at cruise.

If I had to do it all over again, i'd get a Vibrant because it has the combo racepipe with a high flow cat.

Hey Rich, I still feel bad that happened to you after I sold it to you, I still don't understand what could have caused it, did CorkSport ever warranty it for you, after I gave you the purchase info.

Yup, Corksport replaced the resonator section of the exhaust under warranty and it has been great since!

I have the Mazdaspeed CBE as well and i like the fact that it removes the stock drone at 3k rpm. when i got the car that really annoyed me and i thought the mazdaspeed cbe will make it worse but it did the opposite. even mated with a test pipe, it never drones and is really mellow unless you get on the gas. I had the ghl cbe as well and that one is obnoxiously loud. I live in socal as well if you want to hear it, we can meet up. I might put it up for sale as well.

Just throw a larger resonator on the stock CBE.

+1 (Sort of). See sig below. A 3 inch Vibrant UltraQuiet straight through reso in the middle of my race/testpipe on my catless dp/rp running into the stock CBE tamed the considerable drone I got when replacing the restrictive stock dp and second cat.

BTW: If it is increased volume when you "get on it" you are looking for why not address the power issue at the same time and get a high flow dp/rp either catted or catless. It will get a lot louder, even through the stock CBE when you romp it, but you can kill the drone with a reso in the rp section without losing any of the nice power gain. Just a thought.
