What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

that 8-10 weeks is gunna really blow.. even 7-10 business days sucks. lol

I've been holding off since earlier this year. I almost had the car ordered the day the order banks opened, but I rethought it and didn't want to get plagued with possible first year bugs, especially right at launch. Job 2 cars typically have those issues sorted out, and the initial problems that come up with mass production from suppliers can be sorted out quickly.

Pulled the front bumper off the car today. Fixing the HID fogs and most likely pulling the SRI and putting the stock air box on. Already pulled the sharkfin of and put the stock fishing pole back in its place. I need to pick up a cabin air filter as well, so I'll do that once the car is back together, and start on a final clean up for some FS shots to go on Autotrader.

So are you ready to let go of that sharkfin yet?

yea i completely agree. even if they're not serious problems little things like bad wiring (like the first model of the newer GTO) or HVAC problems can be a real pain in the ass.. smart move.

hmm.. selling them as a set? i got 2 wheels with curb rash (bought it that way). If you just wanna get rid of 2 then you know where to go. i just wouldnt want 8 of the same rims sitting around lol

Yes, I'm selling them as a set. Also, these were a hodge-podge mixed set when I got them, so these would be ideal for a repaint/powdercoat job instead of just the stock finish.

Mine is kinda lame, named it Ruby. Mostly due to a really good family friend, he suggested it due to my cars color and fiesty-ness due to turbo and AWD. the name reminds me of a nutcase but very hot redheaded chick... fitting id say.

I call my 6 ruby also, because its velocity red and is as tempermental and unpredictable as this "nutcase" Ruby that I dated back in high school.

I can't decide if I wanna spend $30 or so and wire up my own aux port, or if I should buy a ready made one that'll have automatic SD card support... it's nice being able to turn the car on and BAM have music... not having to worry about charging or turning the mp3 player on or choosing a song.

See...I was just looking at the same thing.
I like the idea of having the ability to run the USB directly...but you can only have like 10 folders w/99 songs each. Ok great...999 songs, but I want the one that lets you see the song title in the LED display.
Which one is that? Anyone have that installed?

it'd be kickass to get an LED display like that one, that shows an easy to navigate directory of all an MP3 library. instead of randomly hoping to find some music you are in the mood for. lol

you guys are referring to the Metra Axxess kit. its pretty nice, but its kinda flaky. I've had it for a couple years now, and occassionally I need to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to recognize my iPod. I actually have it in the cx-7 right now, and I think its worse in there...so i'm gonna move it back over to the speed.

other downside is that you have to unplug your iPod and change the playlist/album/etc if you want to keep shuffle on...really annoying.

I been searching for like 4 hours for a double din kit...it seems they are even more rare than the cars themselves lol! Has ANYONE actually seen the double dins in person?

interesting. i'm strongly considering doing this. i'm actually looking online as we speak for a 7-8 position molex connector that would allow for it to be "produced" and just plug and play...
