power steering noise

My power steering is making a high pitch wine noise pretty much all of the time. It is noticiable in park and also at stop lights and when you turn the wheels. Is there any explanation for this? or is the car just getting broke in? No problems save for the noise. But it deffinetly sounds louder than it should.

How old is your car? What speeds is this happening at? It is just when its cold, or the car's cold? I need a tad bit more info about your car/issue...

'07. The car does not have to be in gear, just running. and it almost seems like it is louder when the engine is hot. For sure it is louder when you turn the wheels. but yeah, I can be parked at a stop light and hear it humming away.

Have you checked the fluid and the hoses?

Power steering pump might be going out.

Just curious, is it hard to change the power steering fluid?

Anyone know?
