NEMOC Random BS Thread

Oh...found out the hard way that G2 caliper paint has a 6mo shelf life.

Another sucker for the G2 kit. Haha. Sorry, it's like paying for Dynamat. The markup is just crazy when you can buy the same stuff for so much less.

This is the reason while I still want a P5 for a daily driver. I've always loved the design and stuff.

Exactly! If I needed a DD I would have kept my P5. Loved that car!

In other news, I'm switching jobs again today. Working for a friend in doing some exterior house painting and enjoying the weather.

Just got back from CT... LONNNG night, but the race tire trailer is hooked up and functional.. pics once i get home and load it....

then 2 days of AutoX and Drifting! (Hopefully ill have a photographer this year....)

What do you use instead of G2? I am looking to do my calipers but don't want to pay that much for it.

I found some caliper paint in a spray can last night at NAPA - it was about $7-$8. I picked up some engine paint to spray paint my oil cooler screens (which I've had forever and haven't put on because I wanted to powdercoat them).

Edit: I have no idea what G2 is.. but I'm just throwing out there that I saw caliper spray paint.

Some days I too miss my P5. Up until the day I sold it no one knew how old it was and most said they liked it better than the Mazda3. However, when it comes to comfort, the larger seats and telescoping steering wheel in my MS6 win out. I wish they made small cars for tall people.

a telescoping steering wheel is worth its weight in gold. I wish my subaru had one sometimes.

Awesome, we'll have to hook up guys. I'll be there for 4 days with nothing to do. Haha!
I don't live tooooo far away... Hehe I'm closer than when you're on the cape! :p
BBQ day in the Devil's Hopyard area? I'm sure the other members in the area wouldn't mind getting together for one.
I would looooove to join. I've gone around those roads in the past, in a corvette, on a bike, and in a t-rex. I haven't driven them myself though..

Yeah I have seen that before as well just didn't want it to come out like crap, so was just checking to see what others have used.

G2 is a caliper epoxy paint. Has to be used in a certain amount of time and has to be used all at once. Though the results usually come out pretty good.

I'd advise a test run at lower speeds. There are a few points in the road where the cars can bottom out.

My miata (at stock suspension height) can take it at aggressive speeds with no problem, but some of you are a lot lower.

Ohh I remember you talking about the t-rex and was wondering what color it was... I saw one on the way home from Cape Cod last weekend, it was orange and got off to go south towards Rhode Island I believe.

So umm... morning folks.

Spent the last two days on airplanes and in airports for a 2 hour meeting. Now I'm getting ready to hop into a certain little red roadster and drive to Carlisle to see some of the folks I haven't seen in years.

those things are a bit too strange for me. I'm sure they are a blast, but they look like a 'busa having buttsex with a manx dune buggy.

It's one of the first ones... originally from Canada and had to get a vin number when he registered it here, that was a nightmare. It's white with blue racing stripes down the middle. It's actually for sale if anyone is interested! Haha....

Wow.. It just straight died in this thread today. Anywho, I passed my physical fitness assessment this afternoon. I managed to squeak out an 11:07 mile and a half run. Yay!

I bet I could do a half-mile in 11:07 lol...I can't run for @%#&. Honestly though, I'm sure I could manage a 12-minute mile.

A pair of skates and an ice rink is a whole different story :P
