....i will say again alpine or pioneer and be done with it.

i would go with pioneer or alpine... lol
i had a panasonic and as far as flashyness and functions they are nice however i went from a panasonic to pioneer and there was a huge sound output difference
I would def. put Panasonic as 3rd on my list, after Pioneer & Alpine. No disagreement there. On that note, I've had the same Panasonic HU for over 5 years. Was in my fc, and later (& still) in my MP3. Functionally have had no problems and it still works great; not a single issue with it. And it has seen a lot of abuse... Dependability goes a long way. That and it's super shiny & blue, lol.
Panasonic is the parent company of Eclipse, which makes some top notch stuff.

I have a nice Pioneer head unit with built-in ipod controls. Very convenient, but the interface is a little wonky. I'd prefer a double-din screen with a better UI and the option to put digital engine gauges in it a la GT-R. Anyone know of a unit which can perform the tasks I just listed?
If nothing else, whenever I replace my Mac Mini, I can try and integrate it into a screen there carputer style...

Yeah I've seen what he's been doing with that, but it seems a little overkill. There has to be a double-din monitor which has a UI in there where you can plug in gauge information. Plus, I like my glove box... LOL

It was all cool but the wifi part, Yeah its sweet to have wifi in your car but i would have found a better place for that wireless router.
Idk about oil pressure, or some things, but the some of Pioneer's AVIC line has what they call "Vehicle Dynamics Displays." Voltage, Clock, Direction, Slope, Acceleration, Side Acceleration, Angular Velocity; the older ones used to do Approx. HP & Torque, speed, rpm and a lot of stuff, idk about new ones.

You mean the Hood/fenders/bumper thing they used for their car at one time?? If so it was a 1 off part they made and costed a hella lotz! lol and DGM isnt that great of carbon fiber. The only thing i have to get from them is the sideskirts and the pcs for inside the car.
But people, Spread the word about fenders please!!!!!
I'm pretty sure you've spread the word to everyone already.
I think most ppl can't afford and/or can't justify $650 for fenders... (shrug)
