Intake question

lol i've never had a clicking noise either. when i smash on the car i do notice the sucking noise inbetween shifts, it actually seemed to get louder when after i put the mp3 ecu too. but with normal city driving i dont hear it at all since i usually shift between 3 and 3.2k

hm... my sucking sound is really rather loud. thinkin maybe thats a cause for concern )^:

are you running a short ram or cold air?

edit: my bad i just read your sig, i have the same intake. idk maybe it has something to do with climate or altitude?

I've had a number of set ups in my car. Nothing compares to the sound of a tru CAI. Initally the car came with with a stock intake and paper paper filter(fram I belive) I got a AEM SRI which had the 90 degree bend but had the filter in the engine bay, some people call it a Warm air intake. That had a Dryflow AEM filter on the end of it, sounded great. I sold that and went back to stock bc I thought Id be selling the car. I installed it with a KnN filter. It DID NOT sound anywhere near an aftermarket intake system. I then got another AEM SRI this was the really short one, That one sounded great as with the previous, I couldnt pass up an offer on an Injen intake, now taht sounds COOL. You can hear a constant sucking while @ idle and damn that thing makes alot of noise when u stomp on the gas.

Hope this helps.

it's true intakes doesnt not make any difference if u dont have any other mod on the car, i just got a K&N filter it sounds nice and it rides a little different than before

Lol, of course you won't notice much of a difference if you don't have any other mods...its not like our cars make gobs of power out of the box...its not a V6,V8, etc we can't just slap on a CAI or SRI and wam 20hp gain lol making these cars a little more peppy is gonna take at the very least intake, header, and exhaust. Then maybe a underdrive pulley, MP3 ECU, remove the VCTS/VICS and maybe a thermal spacer...not sure if this really does much though. You'd have to ask someone with one.

I added some pulstar pulse plugs, injen CAI, and a header. I can notice a decent amount of gain in 1st and 2nd and slight gain in the higher

I just ditched my cai and went back to stock. There's a noticable difference in throttle response and low end hp. I wish I went back to stock a long time ago. My supporting mods are header, cat-back, underdrive pulley and mp3 ecu.

Same here. I had an Injen CAI for awhile and it was night and day going back to stock with a Wix drop-in.
