I can get the Dunlop's for $460 and the Yokohama's for $520....I know that both are good brands. Both tires have a 300 tread life. There 225/40/18 and I will be putting them on the stock wheels but most likely in 2-3 months I'll get some 18x8.5 or 18x9 wheels. I do travel out of town alot and I want a good tire that will give me some grip but that will last me a while too. These are the ones that I liked the most. Which one would you guys choose??

S drives, all of the people that I know that have them love them. Check out the reviews on tirerack.

Yea I did check the reviews on tirerack and they all love the price..jeje
But I thought they had a pretty long tread life since there 300..And I really didnt like the Hankook's...they just dont catch my eye..thanks though!

Well I currently have S.Drives on my 3 and they've been great tires for me. Great in wet and dry, quiet, and consistent even wear as well.

a couple friends and myself all just got ev12s.
so far, they grip really well, i love em. quiet as hell too.

but sounds like you are pretty much already set on getting the s drives. i say go for it!

Jeje...no well im open for any opinions and options..believe me...I had a list of like 15 tires to choose from and these were the ones I saw that might be a better buy. For price, quality, performance, tread wise, and just how the tire looked overall. But ive been looking at the reviews for the evo12's and they look good also!

Im also lowered on H&R springs and I dont want to rub. Ive known that it depends alot on the type of tire. That 2 tires can be the same size (225/40/18) and one can rub but the other wont. Just because there made differently. Would I have any issues with any of these tires? including the Hankooks...

It sounds like these are the standard Dunlops Direzzas and not the Star Spec EP's. I would choose the S Drives hands down.

Mmmm...im kinda dissapointed...I got to really go deep and read alot of reviews for quite a few tires and both these tires had more bad reviews than good ones. Even the Hankooks Evo V12's had really bad reviews...uuuhhh

I think im gonna end up getting the Sumitomo HTR Z III....haha
Something super cheap that will last me like 3 years....

im not too keen on super soft tires that wear out in two seasons (summer only) so im looking at something with a bit better tread life myself. the general exclaim uhp in 225/40/18 seem to have pretty good reviews. the poor reviews are smaller sizes that dont have XL load rating and are made in france or the czech republic not germany. any opinions on these?

I read the reviews and they do have alot of good ones favoring that the tire is really good..not the best for performance but that last a long time and there not too noisy either...good in the rain too! There might be a chance for me to get these...hmmm
Thanks man...(thumb)

General Exclaim's rank around #4 in the budget high performance class. It was my 2nd choice to the Ventus V12 Evo. They are UHP's though; you won't get THAT many more miles over an EP class tire.
