NEMOC Random BS Thread

Ahhh...what a nice day. Took a quick cruise to soak it all in. Stopped at the gas station and the lady behind the counter said, "You look young." :) She paused then said, "What are you...30?" I said, "37." Nice to be called young. Maybe it's because I was glowing. Hehe.

so i need tires in the next couple weeks...(like NEED them now)

I think I have it narrowed down to
Yokohama Parada Spec-X (great reviews on tirerack but i dont like the look)
Toyo Proxes ST-II (see below concern luke raised about being made in China)
Cooper Zeon XSTA (cant find anyone who uses coopers, and even though TFT sells them....they try to push me to the other ones...nice tread though)
Kumho Ecsta STX

any thoughts? Im guessing no one here has much experience with "sport truck" tires :)

Toyo's are now made in China, not japan. Quality control sucks (hence why Obama put a hold on any of them coming over untill China improves its quality control).

Something to think about. They are not the same tire they were 6 months ago.

I sent an email to Toyo about this today and got the following response just now:
"Thank you for contacting Toyo Tires USA. Toyo Tires only produces our
Tires in Japan and the United States for the US consumption.
Thank you again for choosing Toyo Tires!!!!"

So I dont know if this is misinfortmation or if they stopped the whole china-thing (for US consumers anyway)

88 degree's right now.. wow!!.. good news is this weather is helping to get the construction going again .. the driveway is all graded and marked out, they will be bringing in truck loads of crushed gravel and all that tomorrow, all the drainage pipes have been set in.. hoping to get the construction on the building going by friday again!!! woot!!! woot!!! bad news : were 7 weeks behind (sadbanana)

Howdy folks.

Long time no see.

Kinda dropped off face of planet earth there for a while. Bought a house, got married, company got downsized to 3 engineers (me being one of them). But at least winter is over, the 8 is out of the garage, and time to start going to car meets again!

congrats on the house purchase and marriage..

can't wait!

what a day, i was actually sweating on the ride home with the top down...of course the sitting in traffic din't help...128 sucks!

the weather is great, I wanted to go out and try to tune my car a little bit, since I fixed the exhaust mani leak.. but of course the msp decided to act up for me, and threw a code.. it's P0171 thinking it's a dirty MAF, running lean and not the best idles right now and I know I don't have a vac leak.. could be engine mechanical condition.. whatever the hell that means? and fuel pressure I wouldn't think so .. let the guessing games begin I guess.. but.. at least I'm driving it, and winter is over!

and I would come to the spring cleaning meet but I just detailed my car last week, and my brothers msp doesn't have insurance (not full drivable insurance at least) yet, and won't have it until he gets a job for the summer, so oh well.. OCC I'll be there for sure

so what do u guys think of this idea

im thinking of putting in a passengers side vent pod.. i just pm'd Ben about it.. with a 52mm Prosport boost gauge.. so the passenger can see what i do.. instead of the always anooying person leaning over to see it in my 3 pod i have.. i think its funny and cool.. it'll look clean because Ben does awesome work on his pods as well.

I see what you are getting at Gary, but honestly I think as a passenger in a car I would be annoyed by the gauge constantly moving. I dunno...maybe just me.

Morning all.. So after getting my back brakes fixed, I was driving in fitchburg yesterday, hit a pot hole and now my front end is vibrating really bad, but only when I hit the brakes.....any ideas?
