the dreaded clunk

ok so I know this has been discussed before, but I need help with this damn clunking noise. its coming from the front end and it happens over things like manholes and small stuff like that. not only that, but now there is a distinct jingle or ring sound over the bumps too. i get the clunk along with what sounds like keys jingling or something like that. i waited until it got warm to see if it would go away, but it hasnt. and i dont know if this has anything to do with it, but i need new brakes pretty soon and they do squeek a little bit, but its a totally different sound than the jingle. I have no suspension mods yet other than AWR front sway bar end links. i thought the factory ones might have been the problem, but they weren't. any ideas?? ill try to take a video so that you can hear the noises.

I get a distinct "ringing" sound as well now when I go over bumps. Sounds like it's coming from both front wheels.

mine only comes from the drivers side. also the most severe clunking come from the same side. but there is still clunking on both sides.

also...i have the medieval trans mount and i am replacing it soon with the PT-Performance trans mount because the medieval one i think is going to s***

Yeah, I had that clunk. And then my engine fell out. Might wanna get that looked at.

yeah I don't have the clunk noise but I did notice something that sounds a lot like keys/change jingling when I go over bumps.

I took it to the dealer they said the jingling noise is just the air in the shocks compressing. I might take it back to have it relooked at maybe get a different guy to look at it.

it cant be air. its a metallic jingle that i hear

Have you checked swaybar endlink nuts? My car made a loud clunk in the rear over bumps due to play in the endlink bolts.

yea im gonna get it up in the air and have someone look at it. im changing out the trans mount to make sure that doesnt have anything to do with it and as soon as i get my tax refund ill be getting rotors and pads all the way around so ill be really meticulous about finding the issue. thanks for the advice

Same here - dealer told me it was 'normal'. Lost a lot of respect for said dealer after that... Keep us posted!

Just had this happen over the last few days. Passenger side endlink was finger loose when I went to check it out.

I was glad it wasn't anything more complicated than that.
