My New Frozen Speed3

Here goes pics of the new daily. It had one heck of a first night. I got the tech package. So far its a very confortable drive, i'm waiting before i put it through its paces. Eventually i will want to Autocross it in DS or DSP

For all the Gen1 & 2 MS3 veterans, will aftermarket sway bars for the Gen1 Speed3 fit the Gen2? Also, has anyone tried running 5w-40 in their speed? What Tranny fluid do we use? Is there any benefit to getting a BPV? I was thinking forge but i didn't know if i got any benefit from it. I don't plan on upping the boost.

Hmmm not sure about the sway bars, might have had someone try in the GEN 2 section. I know the suspension changed a bit but not sure what exact parts (other than struts) or geometry.

Some people use 5W-40 to try to get rid of their turbo smoke.

Also people like to use a few different tranny fluids but many recommend XT-M5-QS by Ford.

I have the forge, I liked it for a long time, but I started to get sick of the jerkiness it brings when shifting...Sooo I switched back to stock and love the car again, holds the same peak boost.

Seems like people have had the best luck with the Ford Motorcraft transmission fluid. I seem to hear a lot of people saying they develop a whine after 10-15k miles with the redline MT-90. I personally run the Motorcraft and it is excelent.

ill let you know about the sways soon. friend is attempting to put my stockers on his 2010 hatch. if all goes well then you should be good

I only like the tranny fluid run for about 3-6K OCI, so i shouldn't have to worry about the whine.

Please do, i really want to know.

+ 1 on the Motorcraft Tranny fluid.

FYI...if you are wanting to AutoX, installing a rear sway bar will bump the car up from DS to DSP. You can only run a front sway bar to remain in stock class. The rear sway bar will help a ton with the MS3 balance....front sway bar no so much.

As for the motor oil, I run synthetic 5W-40 to help prevent the dreaded turbo smoke problem. It does make a difference.

So my C.S. test pipe, CP-E SRI, CP-E TIP, S.U. Motor Mount, JBarone SS, Hawk brake pads & Denso Plugs have come in. Yesterday I installed the test pipe which was a breeze to install, and the Corksport piece look great and had no fitment issues. It gives a nice deep tone a low rpms, not much of a change at high rpms. There isn't any drone during idle. I also installed the motor mount and even with my kids helping me it took me less than 10mins to get it swapped out. I can't say i noticed much of a difference, but i'm still under 500miles on the car so i haven't really opened it up yet. The main reason i did it was for insurance, better safe than sorry. I also got the windows tinted all around.

I'll probably be doing the intake and short shift mod this week i'll report back later on them. Theres a problem with my rotor not wearing correctly already, so I'll be waiting until i get my rotor and brakes replace before i put the hawk pads on.

Keep in mind the SPECS for 10's MS3 transmission fluid got changed from the 07-09's. I'm not sure if the Motorcraft stuff is close enough to those specs though.

Amsoil makes a great fluid for the 1st gens as well.

I run rotella full synthetic 5W40. I've been using it for a while now. The car has about 58,000 miles on it, no problems, no turbo smoke.
