Bruce....don't they come with a one year warranty thru Mazda? If so I would think they would replace them vs you having to get them rebuilt. Unless the warranty is different on suspension items?

I call this photo "Waiting to Bloom". ;)

Ouch, sorry to hear Bruce. At least it did not happen during your trip.

Yup. Only good thought right now

Warranty is over, I got the rears done free last year. no warranty now

Bruce, damn, sorry to hear that! Was it sudden? How does it feel when blown?

Yup, blew the seal and started banging.

like this...vvrrrrmmm vrrrrrrmmmm BAM! **bump** clunk **bump** clunk clunk.

Yup.

No very happy right now. Need something with Stainless Steel. KW V3 is all I can see. Anybody got something better?

Going to call Goodwin and see if they have in stock. Anyone got any deals for those quickly? Need to install this weekend.

A lot of speed3 guys like the mazdaspeed coilover which are KW V3s. The only thing holding me back is the roads around me..

So, I may be going to the dark side....

Looked at a 2007 RX-8 today. Black/Black leather, fell in love with it.

Now just to make a decision.

ok everythings out for powdercoat

here are my choices for color

vavle cover - candy blue

strut tower bar - gloss black

intake mani - gloss black, all mounting tabs removed on it that had to deal with the stock top mount.

custom intake/inlet - wrinkle black

and i also have the Mazdaspeed intake cooler kit seen here on the way

Aren't Bilstein PSS3s basically stock-like as far as finish and metal goes? Painted yellow and such?

Frustrating night working on my rear suspension. First, it appears that the left rear spring perch got cross-threaded or I have to remove the spring pressure from it to try to get it to move (it moves an 1/8th of a turn and that's about it).

So after I turned the shock in about 1", I had a much better ride, not hitting the bumpstops nearly as much, but it felt like it still bottomed out going over speedbumps and still oversteered some. I measured the droop at about 1 1/4" in the rear, which is lower than spec (though no online spec... only someone's online notes). Decided to turn in the shock another 5 revolutions, giving up just under 1/2" of droop. So now I have about 3/4" of droop, which maybe way low? Haven't put the car down yet and test driven.

Another thought is that having the rear end raised up higher than the front is also causing some oversteer (rear center of gravity is different). I'd lower the rear end a little bit, but now I am messing with the alignment (and I can't get that damn spring perch moving).
