What have you done to your MS3 today?

little clean up and those wheels will look good! what are the specs? what size tires are you shooting for?

Hah, thanks. They're pretty filthy. One needs a bit of touch up from curb rash, but they are pretty darned good other than that.

Tenzo DC6. 18x8 +45. Stock Potenza RE050As 215/45/18 are going on till they wear down; then it's Star Specs size 235-245/40/18.

Adjusting the corner weights by messing with any sort of spring pre-load, and sway bars are springs, isn't a good idea. If a sway bar or coil spring is preloaded to bias one side or the other the car will handle differently when turning left vs right, which isn't good. Corner weights should be adjusted by wheel height only if you want to do things right.

Just my 2cents from setting up race cars.

Just to be absolutely clear, I wasn't suggesting using adjustable swaybar endlinks in order to preload the bar and/or attempt some sort of backwards method of corner weighting...

I was just explaining that adjustable swaybar endlinks can be nice to have if you've corner weighted your car and as a result you have unwanted swaybar preload that needs to be dialed out.

;)

Very correct info here. And you should only have to adjust one corner usually. The one with the less weight on it. This is how most spec miata guys do it. Then get an alignment, then recheck corner weight. all with you in the car. Set up a good cross weight balance. That will make a huge difference.

(2thumbs) Good. Just wanted everyone to be clear on that (burnout)

I'd go for the front one with the most weight on it because one could make the ride height slightly lower overall, presuming you can adjust your suspension lower. If there is more weight on a wheel, that means it's ride height is set too high relative to the wheel across from it. You may wind up having to adjust two wheels if your aim is get ride height lower, but if you go for the lightest corner you will only have to adjust one.

Don't forget to check ride height at all four corners while you're corner-balancing. It is possible to get the whole car leaning to one side if you're not careful.

any one know if i need to remove the rear bumper in order to take out the two reflectors on either side of the license plate? the reflectors on the outer corners of the bumper pop right out from the inside but hell if i can't get the others to come out!

You'll need to remove the bumper to gain access to the rear-facing reflectors.
