Turbo XS pipe or Corksport Race pipe?

:
Mazdaspeed 6 GT
I think i might end up buying both just because they are pretty cheap. But is there a fitment issue with the TurboXS pipe since it looks like it does not mate up to the doughnut gasket?

Just wondering any replies would be nice..

Either way im getting the Corksport Downpipe but I searched the forum and could not find much info on it.

Corksport race pipe would prob fit best with their downpipe. I both their downpipe and resonated test pipe (and their cat back which i still have) back in the day, and it was awesome. The perfect balance between rumble and quiet.

If your gonna be mating two pieces together (dp & tp), i suggest staying with the same manufacturer for both, as their pretty much guaranteed to fit together.

Also kudos on the CS dp, it's the best option for IWG on stock turbo IMO.

djuosnteisn has you on the right track with this one. You definitely want something that is going to utilize a doughnut gasket for a ball and socket type of joint. If you use a simple flanged end on the inlet side of the test pipe you're going to have serious leaking issues because of how much these engines move around in the bay.

The divorced design of the CS Down Pipe is absolutely the best solution for a race application on these internal wastegate turbos. However, that comes at a disadvantage because given the nature of the design you can't buy one with a catalytic converter in it. Just make sure you know all the implications of that before you buy it. Outside of that, Corksport makes great products.

Also corksport plans to make a catted test pipe in the near future to satisfy much demand. It'll be quite similar to their resonated test pipe, just with a cat instead.

This allows you to run a properly catted exhaust while driving on the streets, and then easily switch to a non-catted test pipe on track days :) It's by far the most modular and easily configurable after market exhaust on our platform.

I'm sure you could call corksport for more details.

I'm running a 2.5" SU test pipe with stock exhaust and it works fine. Not much increase in tone unless you get mid-range, but it does help with spool up.

I'd go with the SU or the CS one if I were you.

I bought the turbo Xs one.. Now my exhaust rattles on the right side against my Skirt tip. So I had to rig a spacer in the bushing to force it down. It also vibrates more now I noticed... Its a little loud so im probably gonna end up getting the resonated one from Corksport its cheap anyway so no big deal.

And since im doing that I will go with there DP..

Spend the extra money and go with stainless. You'll be sorry if you don't.

Agreed. I've not heard much about the SLS, but the SU pipe is just fine.

Just get the stiffer exhaust hangers from CS, that should do the trick.

there is flat sheet metal above the exhaust tips... bend/cut this out of the way... im running a cs downpipe and a turboxs test pipe with cpe single exhaust..... im thinking of swapping my turboxs for a cs catted pipe and remove the glasspack i installed in the axle back section, just to help with the little bit of smoke and the fuel smell....

I'm running the same set-up minus the DP and I love it. Thought you're right smoking is a little crazy now, before it wasn't all that bad but now at any light it pours right out. With your CPE exhaust does yours rub against the diff? Mine does just a little, nothing crazy but just wanted to see if someone else does too.

To the OP whichever TP you choose turboxs, SU, corksport whatever you're going to be happy. It's not as big of a gain as the DP but you will still see the difference. I went with the turboxs TP because I got a good deal on it and I liked the flex joint.

It puzzles me how much more vibration im getting though with the TurboXS straight pipe even though it has a flex pipe. I can really feel the vibration in the car at certain rpms when its idling..

Yea I was gonna go and get the DP but after I saw the install and how much people charge to put it on.. I think the DP will be further down the road for me...

I can tell it helped more up top.. It seems though the more mods I do the less oomph im getting down low like when it was stock :)
