NEMOC Random BS Thread

Ummm.... Gary if that was to me, I've lost about 25 lbs since I did it back in november, but I also go to the gym 4-5 days a week and do MMA classes so I probably would have lost more, but a lot of what I have lost in fat weight has come back as muscle weight. Still cant lost my GUT tho.

I hate paying for soda when I'm out somewhere because it costs them about 3 cents and it costs me over $1.

Funny you should mention that. I worked at Subway for about 7 years through high school and college. I knew things.

A medium sized drink (the biggest paper cup you can get) costs about 17 cents for the cup and about 20 cents to fill it (syrup, water, carbonation).

So customers payed about $1.79 for something that cost about $0.40 to produce.

I corrected a 2 liter a day mountain dew problem... mix that with a full change of my entire diet, and throw in some (excessive) exercise... and I dropped 55 lbs in 4 months between November of 08 and Feb of 09...

So yea, you'll see a big change if you've done it long enough :D

yet another reason I don't drink soda.

Yeah it was to you, thanks. People are posting too fast. Seems I finally stirred up a worthwhile conversation topic lol.

Yeah, I do the gym thing too. Can't wait til it gets a little bit warmer..mountain biking season! woohoo!

I'm contemplating getting a bike for this summer..... Let's see how horribly I can crash on a bike, see if it can out do the scar on my elbow from rollerblading..

Phen (or anyone else)? Please don't repost the pictures of your fall... They make me queasy...

I bike a LOT in the summer.

I have two bikes.. A trek 7300fx for the roads/light paths, and giant front suspension mountain bike for the heavier trails.

Yea I hear ya, warm weather I play baseball on weekends and basketball so I get a lot more active. But yea thats the key, less soda, empty sugars, and a lot of activity, have to eat regularly also, like I do a bagel for breakfast, a go lean bar for a snack, I eat a small lunch, like a small salad, or small veggie sub, a power bar or protein shake in between lunch and dinner, I eat a normal dinner, tends to be on the big side, and then like fruit salad or something small if its junk food....Its been working great....just have to eat small meals througout the day or protein rich bars to keep you full and metabolism up!

(shocked)

yea, I thought it was amazing too...

Of course one of my best friends from high school kept me pretty motivated... since he lost 180 lbs in 12 months...

He was disgusted at what he'd let himself become... so he lost half of himself. That really pushed me to just get back in the shape I was in before college...

and now I'm in the best shape of my life lol

Yea thats how I am, I saw what I looked like in a pic from my sons football game one day and was like WTF!! I couldnt believe how big my gut was, and thats what motivated me. I cant encourage these kids to work hard, eat right, be active in sports as a coach and not practice that myself. So by this football season I want to be in BETTER if not the BEST shape I have been in since High School. Which I know is a lot...But When I graduated I was 210 ready for college football but my ACL had other plans!

Do it! As long as you have a quality bike and don't do anything outside of your comfort level, you'll be fine.

OMG I wanna see...

If you really want to see, I'll PM you. I konw Jenn doesn't take the pics well...
