Looking at buying a MSP and want advice? Post here!

Cant go wrong at that price. If you have the money for a motor build it will be worth it. If you are going to try to scrape it together and kinda half ass do the build you would be better off buying it changing the motor and selling it for some coin.

theres nothing wrong with dropping in a stock engine, as long as its fresh he'll already be ahead of most of us. plus he'll have money to swap out the struts, sway bushings, maybe the control arms (I'm thinking about doing mine to clean up some wandering under power) and anything else that might pop up due to age and mileage.

as long as you want a project it sounds like a GREAT idea!

That is what i am trying to say. If you are wanting and have the money for a project go for it. If not at that price I think you could make some easy money.

Yeah if I buy it I was just thinking of building the motor with forged internals and then but then I was just thinking of making it stock, after buying the car id have an extra 1100 but I know if I go forged it would be more than that but I won't have car payments so it shouldn't be hard to come up with the extra cash

323, I didn't really get to enjoy them a whole lot I totalled my protege a week later so now I just have them sitting in my room and maybe occasionally use them when I play call of duty, lol they've been used as a gamer seat longer than they were in my car. Did you ever here of auto discounters in
richmond because they have a black msp I was thinking about looking into

what!!!!!!! sorry to hear that man. was it because of the snow? :( and no, im not too familiar with richmond car dealers.

nope snow had nothing to do with it, i was driving to school and some guy in a truck was in my lane coming towards me i pulled off the road a little and when i came back on the road my wheels caught and drug me into someones driveway totalling their sunfire too. and the guy that ran me off the road just kept going. so now im trying to find an msp

if i buy the msp that needs a motor i was thinking about buying the motor and head from cruzanspeed, do you think that would be a smart why to start? if i go that route what else would i need to do to have it run smoothly?

if you can afford it... that should make pretty much a badass setup. that engine is built to take a LOT more than what a stock MSP setup will throw at it, so you've got LOTS of room for upgrades too.

I might not be getting the msp because the kid told me someone offered him more than his asking price, if I don't get it my quest for an msp might be over

Dude trust me finding an MSP with a blown motor should not be that hard. If you really want the car, just jump on that built motor deal and continue your search carefully and thoroughly.

Hahah, nice. I've been enjoying driving it, but got an assload of tickets in the past 8 months, so that's just another reason why it has to go. Good luck man, lmk if you have any questions.

Were you the guy having issues with the PAR gears? Not trying to dog your car because your mod list sounds sexy, just wondering what the hell was wrong with them?

Pretty much the just of it was that if you don't change the gear oil every 3k miles then they pit and can brake. Also I think the 14psi on the stock turbo had a part in it also cause that is a tremendous amount of pressure really fast cause the turbo spools up so quick.

Change the gear oil with every oil change? **** that. I think anybody that's over 10psi on the stock turbo is overdue for a 28rs. Whether you're built or not they are simply better no matter how much boost you run.

you change the gear oil because if you're smart, you're running race gear oil, which has a calcium carbonate in it. as the crystals get crushed, they absorb that stress. Once they're all crushed, its time for a change. its not something most would consider DD-able.
