godamn im so late on this thread.. heres one of the best loooking Black Mica MS6's on this forum..i should tell everyone that the intercooler has been powdercoated black and you can not see it anymore, also the paint has been refinished with 4 new coats of clear coat and all blemishes and one small ding has been fixed as well... updated pics coming soon.. heres a pic before winter.

i hope you mean just the end tanks because if you PC'd the fins and the actual cooling surface then you just made your FMIC useless. other than that car looks good.

yeah powder coating fmic is not a good idea, if you wanted to make it black you should have used radiator paint.

yeah i guess i should have specified what was powdercoated.. end tanks were coated and then i went over the fins with rad paint from autozone.. looks badass.. ill have a pic once the weather is nice..

is it just my black mica or does anyone else feel like its not really that "black"? i mean from a distance, anyone would def says its black, but up close in the sun its kind of like a really dark grey. i used to have a black prelude and the color was much deeper. is it the "mica" part of the color that makes it kind of flaky looking?

It's not just yours, it's all of ours. At night or when I look at it from a distance you would say "it's black" but when I park beside an actual black car especially in the daytime under hard sun light it looks almost faded to me...

Definetly an extreamly dark grey.

no one has a black mica with aftermarket machined gloss wheels? thats the look i want to get but i want to see some first.

what the hell are you guys talking about.. dark grey?? lol really.. if you guys took care of your car and waxed it, used a buffer on it atleast 2 times a year maybe your car would look black all the time.. in my pictures i posted there is NO editing of any kind.. so our car is dark grey in the sun huh??.. wrong!!

I agree, Black Mica is def. not gray at all. I am gonna need some buffing when spring comes cause I just noticed a bunch of little white swirls on my sides from winter, salt and people rubbing on my car in parking lots. hate that s***.

Lol, maybe you guys took it to a certain extent, but I would say it's not completely black. I guess I was wrong saying it looks like a really dark grey but it's not like a jet bold black. Don't flame me though, I wasn't trying to say it's a regular grey.

I wash mine pretty often and keep it real clean but I haven't waxed it yet. I don't see much of a pont waxing it in the winter.

the only reason i can think that the car would look grey or have a faded paint look too it would be the coat of wax on the car, lack there of, or an inproper application of wax.. look at drover's first pic in this thread, and then look at mine, there is no way in hell its the camera because i have a bad point and shoot. to really make black mica stand out it needs a really good buff job :) and a good coat of wax or 2.. also the stock coat of "wax" didnt even last a month.

^^ I wish I could store mine in the winter, save it from all the damage we get up here in Canada... lol.

At least your not down here with us, we got some bad roads and badd winters.. That's why i can't get rid of the monster truck look.

hmm, yea maybe your right. i hope itll look a deeper black after a wax. too bad its been snowing so much this season on the east coast. which i might add is super fun to drive in with this car. :D

Yeah, I bought my car before winter so I haven't reallay waxed it yet, I want to get into the habit of waxing it after I wash it when it gets nice out.
