I'm pretty sure the clutch on the 6 is going. At about 3-4K RPM I can floor it, and while RPMs climb quickly, the speed climbs very slowly.

I'm guessing this is not something that can be adjusted and I need a new clutch. What do you guys like, and where should I get it?

The car is an '05 6s. Daily driven, will see a couple of autocrosses, but really doesn't need a high-performance clutch, especially since one reason I got rid of my previous car was that the clutch was a bit too much of a workout.

If your autocrossing the car than a upgraded clutch would be very desirable. Something with factory style pressure but able to handle more spirited driving would be my recommendation. As far as who to go with thats really up to you. Do your research and choose what your budget will allow.... ACT, Clutchmasters are good places to start looking....

Don't forget about Spec!

To the OP: I picked up a Spec clutch and Fidanza flywheel and will be installing them either this weekend or next. Keep an eye out in the How-To section for the installation.

Blender my techs have the subframe removed from my car right now... Hope to find out bout turbo shortly. (as far as do you need to remove or if you can get by with loosening.)

Blender good news... Trans is out n the turbo did NOT have to come out...

try softening the clutch pedal a bit.. theres an adjuster down on the pedal.. it wont make the problem go away.. but, youll get a few more thousand miles out of your clutch with softer engagement... i made this go way for a long time.. and ive gotta an extra clutch and flywheel in my garage for such a problem.. Warning!! your clutch and labor will be major $$ so, start saving now!!

I agree with this.. mazda wants somewhere around 2700 for parts and labor (they say it is like 10 flag hours or something).. I went with the ACT 6 puck sprung instead.. Found a transmission shop that has good rates and still paid 1450 for parts and labor
