Blueprotegelx Turbo Build

Update:
Car is still running great at 9psi, no leaks, issues, etc! Still have yet to roll fenders and have just been enjoying the reliability of the car since my last post in October.
 
What? What happened? Seems there has been a few of you blowing motors. Received a text from JNaoto saying he blew his, so I figured I would get on the forums and see what was new. lol.
 
He txt me too, what a ***** lol

Mine didn't blow but would have if I would of kept driving it, my vics got ate up and caused some decent damage to cylinder 4 so I rebuilt the p5 motor, dropped it in and bottomed out (i think) and put a hole in the trans so now I'm waiting on my brand new msp trans. lol
 
dub put a hole in his trans and caused my engine to blow a few hours later

that sucks though for the both of u!!! I guess positive side is that u can upgrade---hopefully u have a spare vehicle.

I'm sure J text me before u dubb. Lol

I decided to get on and see if there was anything new---def not! Lol. Noobs asking same questions. Lol.

none of this is sounding to good to me.. not something someone about to go turbo wants too hear!
 
Thats a HD lip.

J blew his motor from over boosting which we all knew was gonna happen eventually, my butterflies got ate up in my motor so mine isn't really surprising either. Don't sweat it dude, you'll be fine.
 
overboosting + redline killed my motor. it was time anyways.. now i dont have to add oil everyday :) you'll be fine, my motor wasnt all that great even when i was n/a

We all knew it would happen, even you! lol. I think a few times you told me you couldn't wait so you could have a reason to upgrade. lol

That's crazy man. I am glad you got it all worked out! A buddy of mine had the same issue with his Jetta and got a used engine put in, got a new turbo out of it somehow.

It is the Home Depot lip as mentioned! I like it a lot versus the mazda factory lip that costs an arm and a leg for I think for such little material. I wish I got it from the two gentlemen selling them on here a few years ago for $80. That's probably another reason why I will not buy a Mazda one now, b/c I know what they use to go for on here.

Also do not stress about your motor going! Before I boosted mine, I did a compression test and went ahead and replaced a majority of gaskets, upgraded plugs and other necessities! Just take your time and maintain the motor you have. Although after I boosted mine, my water pump went out. lol. It was expected as well b/c my motor had almost 100k and it needed to be done soon anyways so I replaced both water pump and timing belt that night. So if you have relatively high miles, then you should expect it as well.
