ahhh the joys of living at altitude. over half our gas stations don't have anything above 89. Went on a drive yesterday, and passed 4 places before I found one that had more than just 85 and 87. (higher alt = less air mass in cylinder = less fuel, lower absolute compression, therefore no knocking.... on a non-turbo...) But sucks for turbo cars meant for that actual octane.
So it is find 91 or bust out here. Was tempted to get some octane booster just in case, still might (Maybe figure the numbers on 3-4 gals to see if it is worth it), but like already said, a 16 oz might increase .2 octane overall in a full tank. I don't want to carry a gallon of toluene in the back of my car (buy it at painting stores if you want to get it, same price for a gallon as you will usually pay for a 16 oz bottle at an auto store)... I'll just have to start paying attention to where the good gas is out here.
