BC Coilovers

If I pay $1000 for these coilovers (and I am not complaining about that price, I think it is more than fair for a good product), will I ever have to replace parts of the suspension package later down the road? For instance, will I be spending another $500 on new struts in another 50,000 miles?

I don't know much about suspensions, yet alone a coilover setup. Please, oh great ones, enlighten me!

BTW, does anyone know how much OEM replacement struts and shocks cost?

I got my BC's used with probably like 10k miles on them at most. Ever since then, I've probably put like 30k myself on them. So far they're holding up. If anything, I'll probably sell them or get them revalved in a year or two. CA has some horrible roads too.

Had mine for half a year and have loved the performance and durability so far. People claim they are bad products and wont compete with other expensive brands but I really wanted camber plates. BC is the only company that offers them.

Got them. Love them. Not as harsh as I thought a pillowball would be and my car handles insanely well.

When I had them raised, I thought they performed good. For the price, they're not bad and they come with camber plates. The spring rates could be a little more stiffer, but it is what it is. To me, they'll do fine for just about any weekend tracking you do.

i've heard people complaining about coil overs, that they get loose and stuff, did anything like that ever happen you guys????????? im also thinking about getting this when i get some extra cash :)

I just am not sure where I want to go with the car next. I am sort of caught at a crossroads. She's got 53,000 miles on her... And since she smokes a little, I took off my intake and am keeping her stock until the warranty is up at 60,000 or Mazda develops a fix. This should take me through the summer and into the winter, so there is no need to buy performance parts. Secondly would be suspension and appearance, and I think that a set of coilovers would satisfy both, however, I don't want to spend the cash to replace my shocks and struts if they are still working acceptably for me. I bought the car used at 45,000 miles, so I don't know (nor have I checked) to see if the shocks and stuff were replaced once already. All I know is I am hoping to make a big purchase as soon as the weather breaks, and I know rims are going to be one of them. I thought a suspension system would complement them nicely. Thanks for all the information, and I am well open to suggestions!

I plan to occasionally take the car to both the road course and drag strip next summer, but will mainly spend time cruising and going to shows to hang out with other cool Mazda people. What do you think I should get?

My BC's have held up well, I auto-X and track the car as well, no issues to date. Both my wife and I track and auto-X the car, so the car sees double duty per se between the two of us. They have improved the handling of the car a great deal, since we can adjust the neg. camber up to -3.0 in the front and rear and you can also order different spring rates from BC as well.

I would recommend them without reservation, one word of caution, please follow the manufacturers recommendation. Most of the issues that people had are those that did not adhere to what BC reccomends.

If you want to get your car dialed in for appearance sake at all, do yourself a favor and get coilovers. I've got mine dialed just right for looks and handling. I wasn't sure if I could survive the coilover stiffness on a day to day basis, but after upgrading from tokico and espelirs I haven't looked back. The BC's on the softest setting is just a little stiffer than the espelir combo and the 1/2" wheel gap, that bothered me to no end, is gone. The BC's are a great daily/autox set up in my opinion. I've run the "dragon" with EVO's, 350Z's and other types and kept pace and I'm going to autox next season for sure. Almost had them for 6 months and I really love them.

BCs have sup-par damper curves from what I gather, amongst other things. IMO, if you're willing to spend $1K to replace your suspension, you ought to be willing to spend another $200-500 to do it right with a set of H&Rs, KWs, or MS Coilovers.

That's just my $0.02

which one do u have on ur car???????????

None yet.

...but that doesn't mean I haven't researched them, and if/when I re-do the suspension on this car I'll most likely be getting the MS Coilovers, unless something better comes along before then.
