NEMOC Random BS Thread

Exact same situation happened with me Cheo. Except I had my WORK wheels on the car. One wheel totally damaged almost all around. Luckily nothing else. I tried to repair it myself but the bronze satin finish is very difficult to match. So I ended up buying another expensive wheel. Bastard! Your damage however is very easy to fix. Little sanding, bondo, and paint.

Starting to shop for:

summer wheels
summer tires
rotors
pads
edit: tints too

It sucks. Thought I'd be able to make the pads last til spring but my car practically screams like a banshee when I brake. It's making me feel guilty lol.

Anyone suggest any good places/websites I should shop at (i.e. good experiences/prices/service)?

I don't know about you, but my brakes squeak like crazy when it's cold outside. My pads and rotors are still good, but squeak like mad until warmed up a bit.

Maybe you have the same problem?

Nah, I could drive that car hard for a good two hours and it'll still squeal. They've got 32k miles on them.

I changed brake pads in the 45K(maybe?) range so you can't be far off.. and the rears were wicked close.

I'm at 49k and still on original pads. My pads squeaked during the winter under light breaking at 15-20k miles. That is why I was asking.

Except for the leaking valve stems, yes. However, these are brake pads and rotors we are talking about. :D

Yeah, he asked about wheels and tires too...

Today sucks.

It was supposed to be an easy day sleeping in until 8:30, then sitting on my ass in the office from 9-3ish...but then my boss calls me up at 7am and says I need to cover for someone who called out sick. I'm like, "cool, where's the job site?". He says, "...New Canaan" and I'm like, "wtf...I hate you".

So now I gotta drive 1hr 45mins almost down to NYC through the crappy weather and actually do work (lulz) and then drive alllll the way back, probably through tons of traffic.

Cheo, sorry bout your car but at least you're alright and it was only the wheel/tire that took the hit.

Jenn, if you're up for doing some moving today I won't be home until at least 5pm, possibly 6pm, but I'll gladly lend you myself and my parents' SUV :)

Edit: I need a new picture for my forum sig...

Hiya NEPOC'ers. I think I'm going to go for a bike ride today! Mountain bike of course.

Made it through my first work week after giving up fast food and soda (alright, I had 1 cup of soda on wednesday...). Limiting myself to drinking only water, milk and once in a while a G2 Gatorade (it's only got 17g of sugar per bottle vs. 79g in a bottle of coke).

Back in the gym as well (I think I posted about it earlier /shrug). I'm sore, took 2 months off from the gym, but definitely not as sore as I thought I'd be.

Hoping the pounds start melting away. I was 40 lbs lighter when I started college /sigh

haha...it's so weird selling off her parts, i mean it! i still love this her, but now i have another girl on the side...i'm so torn!(sadbanana)

And the other girl goes topless.(boobs)

Thinking of going to Miata's in Myrtle Beach in late March this year. Looks like fun.

Edit: Go Crimson Tide~
I made it to 48K on the original pads but it was the rears that did me in. They were toast. The fronts probably had another 5-10k left on them but i swapped out everything. I only ever get squeaking when I'm braking in reverse. New pads are awesome, Rotora H2 Ceramics. No more brake dust!!!!

Late morning everyone.....have been working non-stop since 6:45!!!!!!

have to go get some food now!

What day? what time? Do you have a Uhaul rented and ready to go?

Anytime this weekend, Kyle is working until noon tomorrow but that isn't going to stop the moving process. I honestly haven't decided if I want to move everything this weekend or not. I have a lot of the non-essential stuff packed but I'm probably only 50% packed right now. I have the apartment until the end of January so there is the option to move up until then.

I also have a 5 page research paper due tomorrow and two chapter assignments due Sunday so I have to budget my time right... I haven't started any of it......
