Hey guys I have seen a ton of different people on here with HID conversions. I was wondering who you guys think the best is. I also wanted to see if it is worth it to get the bi-xenon kit. Who is the best person to deal with and who wont screw me over. Thanks again. HAve a great day everyone. Also is anyone has done this and wants to post a picture for me to get an idea of what it will look like, I would appreciate it.

Xenon-experts, they are a sponsor here, I purchase the Xreme kit for $250. I think worth the money. Night and day difference over the halegons. I bought the 4300K kit. No need for the bi-xenon, as the low and hi are seperate bulbs. You will need the H11 for low. install was plug and play. just need to find a spot for the ballast, which I mounted on a triangle shaped brace near the front part of the wheel fender.

Anybody have any firsthand knowledge of this company and its products? Are these any good? Pretty cheap for HIDs.
I have a touring and want to do the same thing but still have a lot of the same questions.... like do I need a relay, what happens if I turn on the hi beams, how long do they usually last, where to mount the ballast?
I was looking at the kit on DDM. I've only had the vehicle for 3 days now so I guess I can wait until I know more about this install.

Get a DDM kit. I have the 35w hi/low kit for my Protege and it works great. Good price and very easy to install.
Thanks, I'm looking forward to your install as I'm looking to do this to the wife's 2010 CX-9 Touring. Our 07 CX-9 was a GT and miss the HID performance of those lights.
UPDATE:
Received my DDM HID kit yesterday and installed them last night. It was very easy and it took me 30 minutes from start to finish. Here is a step by step instructions of what I did to intall them, hope this helps. BTW...what a difference in light output!
1. Open hood
2. Remove plastic access cover from headlamp unit to access bulb by twisting counter-clockwise (Driver-side)
3. Unplug OEM bulb connector by pressing tab and pulling down
4. Remove OEM bulb by twisting counter-clockwise
5. Drill a 3/4" hole on plastic access cover to allow the HID bulb's harness to go through (HID harness comes with a water resistant grommet with the wires going through it that will nicely seal the hole you just made)
6. Install HID bulb into headlamp housing by lining up the tabs and twisting clockwise to lock it in place
7. Connect male plug from HID bulb harness to female plug from OEM harness for the OEM bulb
8. Fish through the remaining female plug and two small connectors (1-female and 1-male) from HID bulb through the hole in the plastic access cover until the rubber grommet
sits nicely and seals the hole
9. Install plastic access cover back on to the headlamp housing
10. Adhere double-sided attaching pad to the bottom of the ballast (provided in the kit)
11. Mount ballast to any open area near the headlamp unit so that the harness reaches to connect to the ballast ( I mounted mine to the left side of the radiator support right underneath the upper tie bar)
12. Connect the female plug to the ballast's built in male plug
13. Connect the two small connectors (1-female and 1-male) to the two connectors coming out of the ballast (also 1-female and 1-male)(female connector from HID bulb connects to male connector coming out of ballast and male connector from HID bulb connects to female connector coming out of ballast)
14. Zip tie the harness to something secure so it is not moving around
15. Turn on lights and check that HID bulb goes on and check that high beams are also working.
**Repeat the same procedure for the right side but you will have to remove the overflow coolant bottle by removing three 10mm bolts in order to have clear access to the back of the headlmap. Also, I mounted ballast to the side of the inner structure of the fender because it was easier to access then the right side of the radiator support**

I was wondering about this step. Did you drill a hole in the back plastic cover? Just trying to make sure.
I'm trying to decide between 4500k, 5000k, or 6000k. I do not want the bulb to have a yellow tint and I like the bluish tint but I do want to be able to see well at night.
the 4500K will give you the MAX Lumens, once you exceed that level, your lumens decrease. I have the extreme HID kit for xenon experts, and it is the 4300K. it is a night and day difference from the halogen. The light has a light blue tint it as well, w/o being obnoxous.
reference chart:
3000K = Great light output (3400 lumens), Yellow, excellent for bad weather.
4300K = Great light output (3400 lumens), White, best performance
5000K = Great light output (3200 lumens), Pure white, very light blue hue. Light still white on the road
6000K = Good light output (3000 lumens) , intense purple output.
8000K =Good light output (2800 Lumens), intense blue output

Yes, I drilled a hole through the plastic access cover that you have to remove counter-clockwise to get to the bulb/connector. This hole will be plugged up with the grommet that is part of the HID bulb harness, so it will be water/moisture resistant.
My bulbs are 5000K and they have a light bluish tint to them but the color it projects is pure white on the ground and they are bright enough to see the road perfectly. I would not go with anything higher then 5000K, otherwise you will loose visibility like tonyj mentioned above.

I just ordered this same kit except I went with the 4500k bulbs as I'm more interested in performance rather than looks.
BTW, since we're on the subject of headlights, my previous CX9 was a GT so it had auto on/off lights. My wife now has a 2010 Touring and really misses the auto headlights. I wonder how hard it would be to convert her car to auto on/off function or if anyone makes a conversion kit.

Can someone confirm the Touring has Auto ON/OFF lights? The brochure does not mention it, but when building a CX-9 Touring, it says it does.
Touring has AUTO OFF only, AUTO ON/OFF is only for the GT which works off a sensor and a timer instead of just a timer on Touring models. You could leave your light switch to ON all the time and it will turn OFF after 30 seconds after you turn off your vehicle. However, they will also turn ON everytime your turn on your vehicle as well wether it is daylight or night.
