access port and ecu problems

i was running the accessport v103 fmic map and my ecu threw a U2064 code which is, off the top of my head, a multiple malfunction code error. asked around no one really knew what it meant and it was concluded it wasnt serious.

along with the u2064 code recently my car wouldnt start and it threw a u0101 and u0100 code which are specific parts of the integrated circuit. this caused a malfunction in the way my ecu talked to the car. basically u0100 and u0101 are certain parts in my ecu that arent working correctly and it causes a communitcation error with the pcm not allowing my car to start for some reason. this happens randomly and in the past 4/5 days it just wont start. im not sure whats going on here but i think cobb needs to chime in on this thread because i have a car that wont start. i need some guidance on what i should do. i reverted back to the stock map and it did nothing. im afraid the malfunction cause a permenant glitch in the ecu and if this is true im dead in the water on how to fix this problem.

try uninstalling the ap completely. did you accidently disturb the dongle when flashing?

bump to get this thread away from the thread where the OP said he loved his AP and the ability to change everything. (They were back to back when I clicked "new posts")

Edit: I should have been more constructive, so: How was the determination made that "multiple malfunction code" wasn't serious? If I were you and this problem is still persisting, I would completely unmarry the AP, and see what that gets you. I was going to say de-mod and take it to a dealer, but then I saw your mods and I doubt that is a practical solution for you.

i do love my accessport. it hasnt done anything but help me mod my car from stock to where it is now. the car runs great.....when it starts. lol.

the power gains from it were awesome and until now, a year or so later, havent had an issue. it just so happens the issue is major and need some guidance. sorry if the whole thing seemed contradictory.

the determination was a few others had it and under discussion in another thread it wasnt causing an issue with any way the car ran or performed. sort of like it threw a code because something was there but it wasnt a danger. even searching for it it seemed like nothing of concern. ill try to unmarry the aop this afternoon and see what happens. and yes....de-mod would take days. lol.

sounds like a wire rattled loose. as i said in the ATR thread, check your electrical connections.

The contradiction wasn't your fault. It was 8.5MS3's fault for commenting on your threads back to back and making them appear in order on the "new posts" list. Just kidding, 8.5, and to the OP, hope it works out. Keep us updated.

ill give it a shot again. i hope its simple like that. its weird how my ap connects to my ecu but the car reads pcm connection errors and wont start. i dont get it. i should just punch everything that has a wire and see what happens. this is frustrating.

Im sorry to interupt but, did anyone else giggle when they read this?

lol. these things dont usualy pass by me. nice one.

so since the accessport reads the ecu and it runs fine when i can get it to run im thinking loose wire as well. or a frayed wire. electrical in cars with 1 stray wire can make the thing go all sorts of crazy....but where the hell do i start? is there a method to this so i dont just start loosening wires that dont need to be touched? i know with the key in the on position i hear a ticking coming from the ecu, and the throttle body is constantly....doing something. when i unplug the back harness on the ecu....it stops. i guess thats half the battle on where i should check. i also unmarried the ap and its still happening. so im down to two things....ecu damaged, or loose wire of some sort.

"U" codes are not engine codes by CAN-Bus communication codes basically saying "I can't see the other modules in the system". Try unhooking your battery and then rehooking it. There is a brief ECU interrupt when you install the AccessPORT. Did you flash a new map on or anything like that before this happened or did it happen all of a sudden? It appears that you have been running the AccessPORT for some time and this happened all of a sudden? I would doubt the AP is at fault since we do not alter the CAN system at all. Can you give more details surrounding the failure? Have you installed any electrical components recently or had the car apart at all?

i will pm you all the details of this and hopefully you and your expertise can work this out with me. ive been trying to figure this thing out and its starting to seem like its beyond me. thanks trav.

Got your PM, sadly, I see a dealership in your future. It sounds like you have ignition or starter issues, something that the AccessPORT cannot help you with.

thanks travis. ill keep everyone posted just in case this happens to others. accessport map runs the car perfect so i dont see a problem with the ap so everyone knows. i ran the v105 map and like it quite a bit.

i should have this problem resolved or at least figured out by next week so ill post back then.

Interested to see the results if this. Really considering the AP as a purchase in the next month or two as I just got a TBE installed. I've been doing a lot of research/reading on the AP in the mean time and I'm just wondering if its really something I want to do. I know its dumb, but with anything I read one or two bad reviews and automatically thing the product is s***, when I know there are sooo many different factors/variables involved.

the ap isnt s***. its def one of the best tools out there for this ride. i cant seem to figure out why im pulling a u2064 code. for some reason i replaced the lines on my catch can and dont know if i hit a wire or something but the damn thing fires up everytime now. im clueless on what is doing this but as the time rolls on it seems less likely that it was my accessport causing the problem.

that code is useless. its the "im getting a pXXX code, hey illumate the CEL light" code

basically a relay code telling the ecu a sensor has a problem
