Ok well when we were working on the car today and we decided to try to figure out why we are getting blow by from the turbo. We have oil on the bumper by the exhaust. So we pulled off the pipe shown in the picture(sorry for poor quality cell pic; this is the pipe going into the turbo where the air filter is) and there was a puddle of oil just sitting there. Why is this happening? I am assuming this is why the turbo is burning oil or atleast related to the problem. Has anyone had this problem or know how to solve it. I think we might take the oil outlet from the turbo off and see if it is clogged and gummed up, but other than that we aren't sure what it could be.

All turbos have some blow-by from vaporization. Excessive blow-by is a simple diagnosis. Blown seals. Rebuild time!

So noone else has any other suggestions on this? Is it ok to drive it like this, if not I am to the point I am going to sell it...

blow by is normal.. and depending how often you actually take off your pipes to check it... should be more or less.... i'm sure there is oil also in your intercooler and pipes... i think as long as your not putting a quart a week to top off you should be fine

well im almost getting there hahaha.

no but just to restate what others said this car burns oil plain and simple. how much oil are you losing though?

It isn't a significant amount, but enough that I notice it. I am just scared because I don't want the turbo to go out on me again(they aren't cheap). Will a blown seal cause my turbo and/or car problems?

Blown oil seals, they are leaking causing oil to develop there. my car puffs a small amount of oil after it sits for 8 hours. i know my seals are going bad. and as far as i know you cannot rebuild a t-25.

Not unless you forget to fill up one week. Eventualy you'll get the turbo lady at some point if it's more than the usual amount.

do you have a oil restrictor?

if the turbo is not oem, there's a possibiliety that there's no oil restrictor which would mean seals go bye bye

What do you mean by "turbo lady"? By the way it is a oem and will the turbo eventually fail?

OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer. In other words, factory parts that came with the car. If the turbo is anything besides the factory GT2554R then there's a chance there isn't an oil restrictor on the oil feed and you're getting too much oil, which then causes some to blow by into the intake and intercooler pipes.

MPI Nick does an upgrade on the stocker, or at least used to, not sure anymore. Yes nearly all turbos fail in their life, they are a consumable commodity. That picture is of your intake housing right. Shouldn't that be oil that is coming from the crank case vent into the intake tubing? Is there any play in the turbo shaft? Is there any oil in your hot pipe, IC or cold pipe?

No the air intake pipe is coming directly off the turbo. The only way for the oil to get into this pipe is through the turbo, it is like the turbo is spitting oil into this pipe. There was some oil on the BOV horn that we wiped off but we haven't had any on there since. I haven't pulled off any other piping to check for oil but if necessary could be done. I can take a picture of the whole engine so you can see the set up if that would help.

WTH are you talking about? Mine doesn't burn oil. And I haven't heard too many people about their oil burning.

dude do u just like to pick fights with me or somethin? hahah

anyways. ok so what yours doesnt burn oil. and your turbo may last 300000 miles. does that mean every msp is gonna have the same outcome? no. im just saying from personal experience and from people always wanting to rebuild their stock turbo's. but sorry i got your panty's in a bunch. you must still think im stupid or something
