Any photographers in here?

3 of my better shots from teh airshow this weekend
All straight out of the camera with no editing.

Plus, my first "attempt" at using the NIkon D200 instead of the Canon Rebel XT i'm used to

Thanks, it's actually my favorite, as well as current desktop wallpaper. lol

I had the BF hide the lens in his leather jacket and I hid the camera body in a makeup bag in my purse... luckily they didn't end up doing ANY pat-downs or bag checks. LOL.

Ikes! Kind of scary when you think about the lack of security.

MX-P5: LOVE the third airshow picture. I do a lot of aviation photography actually. The angle is very unique and the lighting really gives depth to the photo

It was really a case of being at the right place at the right time... AND having my camera with me with all my equipment! Was pulling out of the parking garage and saw it sitting there, with good(ish) lighting, no other cars there, and with a cool background. I parked again and went to work. Got a lot of weird looks, but who in their right mind would pass up that opportunity!?

I would, but only because I work at an aston dealership ;)

Yeah and I can go down the road to one too, but the point is, its not every day you get such a car, in such a perfect location, with adequate lighting. Not even for you I'd imagine.

I still feel I was pretty lucky to have the opportunity to take those shots...

well, no it's not every day that I see one there already, but the point is, if I really want to, I can just take a car and do it.

Here is a picture of Ratan Tata at our dealership:

If you don't know who he is, he is the chap from India who just bought Jaguar and Land Rover.

ooo, so it's going to be really cloudy here in ohio tonight, can anyone try and take some pics of the meteor shower tonight or rather tomorrow around 2-4am (all time zones)

it's supposed to be really good this year!

I say bump that and go D90...

I have the D90 and its sensor is to die for. Ergonomics are spot on. Canon's JPEGs are sharper out of the camera but who shoots JPEG? In any/all RAW workflows the Nikon woops ass.

Check out DXO Mark for confirmation: DXO Mark Camera Rankings

Be sure to select "APS-C" from the "sensor size" drop-down in the middle.

If I'm outdoors, I shoot JPG.

I can bet you 99% of the people in this thread won't be able to spot the difference between a RAW image versus JPG.

One of these is RAW, the other is JPG. You can't really tell the difference.

On first glance, I'd say that #1 is RAW, #2 is jpeg. I only say that because the colors in #1 look better and a little deeper.

Is that how they came out of the camera, or is that after post-production? I can tell the difference from my camera as soon as they come out. I can adjust light levels and color to make them look identical, but straight out of the box, RAW looks better to my eye.

If you have the same image side by side then yes I might be able to, but no way for different pictures.

+1
