Is that an EVO strut brace that fits the protege or custom made piece? Pretty kickass!

It is a strut brace that was made by CP Products a while back. I think they are out of business now. One of the forum members tried to get some done but I don't know what happened. Works quite well though by triangulating the stress between the upper strut mounts.

what does the strut brace connect to on the firewall?

It just connects to the upper portion of the firewall. Not very strong by itself but we have reinforced it with some plate on the opposite side. Not a whole lot of the force is transmitted to the area.

Is it a small plate or does it run from driver side to passenger side. Sorry I'll try to keep on the main subject. But I have a great idea to make one just a little different design.

hmmm, talked to a local about the strut brace and he quoted me 120

If you can get it for that price and it is a quality piece then I would go for it!! The most time consuming and costly part of the brace are the mounting plates to the top of the struts since it requires cutting a thicker metal sheet. Otherwise, it is a matter of proper welding of the tubes.

Count me in but I will need this very soon. I will be upgrading to a FMIC when I get back home from deployment in mid December. I was planning on getting the CS rad but if you can provide the same size radiator at a cheaper price, sure.

How much thicker is it going to be? If it is the same thickness, then I am in as well. The Hiboost kit does not give much clearance.

You can use your stock msp radiatior set up with a FMIC. That's what I'm doing till I have time to get a full size and install it which takes probably an hour to swap'm out.
