Race gas is like Meth injection, useless unless tuned to gain from it. Like previously posted, it's merely a safety to prevent detonation if not tuned for.

meth can reduce intake temps, which increases air density, which the MAF will see and adjust for. to a degree you are right, but it can be a benefit on its own, much like the stock SMIC being upgraded increases power.

You're kind of right.

I noticed a power increase with just the methanol. It all depends on what ratio you're spraying as well. I leaned out the meth mix on mine, comes on at 5psi, incrementaly goes 100% at 15psi, and it helps a lot. The trick is if you aren't advancing the timing just using a little methanol to cool your charge.

But one thing you're wrong about is the MAF, you inject methanol after the MAF, and you're not cooling the charge until right before the throttle body, or in the manifold, depending on where you're injecting.

And a benefit of running a methanol/water mix is that it literally steam cleans your engine.
